Understood. Not that is a justification, but in some way, wasn't he one of those kids too and just never recovered in any meaningful way?

Maybe his childhood was bad and or very different than some, I dont know, but there are plenty of people who come from bad childhoods that dont try to expose themselves in a sexual way to kids.

I totally agree with you, but it's Friday and I'm in the mood for a "devil's advocate" (for the sake of discussion) -

He had handlers his entire life telling him how great he was. Those people have an incentive to be liked, and end up like "yes-men."

He was completely isolated from any real existance from the time he was 5-6 years old.

He never had (or took) the opportunity to grow up in any meaningful way. He legitimately may not have known the difference between right and wrong in certain contexts (which would have been his fault)

He could very well have been a very sensitive person from the start that didn't react well to the circumstances of his childhood and struggled with the implications for the rest of his life, but never took the time to get therapy and address those issues.

Again some people have come from very hard, bad, awful, isolated, violent, wierd, early fame etc backgrounds who dont commit sex crimes against kids or are accused of such. Like I said I'm done talking about. I said my side and reasons for believing what I believe.

I just love the fact that VH1CR is doing a tribute showing nuthin but MJ vids all freakin weekend

what a crock of shit -isn't the "CR" for Classic Rock

it should be VH1ClassicPedo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as far as entertainers are concerned, he was legendary. As for the molestation thing, I wasnt there so I cant say one way or another, but would agree with Brad and Ejecta if he did it, :gethim: then torture him and kill him.

Quite possibly the most talented performer of all time. Love his music. Everyone tries to sound like him, yet no one can. Completely unique and inspired a generation. An absolute music icon. To deny that is just foolish. It was a privilege we were on the planet to experience it.

RIP Michael.

everyone in the US is making such a big fucking deal about MJ

I bet when Ozzy kicks it it'll be just a 2 minute news blurb and then promptly forgotten

Ozzy has a lot more contribution to today's music in his little finger than MJ every could have if he lived for a million years

btw , Macaulay Culkin was a perfectly normal kid before he started hanging around MJ

look at him today - he's totally fucked up - IMO thanx to MJ

flame on

Theres no denying he's the King of pop.I was a metal head when thriller came out,but I loved it!...there's a lot of people cutting on him about the child allegations(nothing was proven),but the truth is that a LOT of us would not be where we are today becuase of his influence on technology and talent back then. Pray for his family, not slay his family :)

Exactly.........People need to be careful not to judge when they dont know all the facts and only hear the media etc. I knew Micheal and his head of security at one time Bill Bray. Way back even during the "off the wall" album, because of his extreme magnitude of his success, (Keep in mind he was a Superstar at age five how many superstars are there? only a few) people were and are out to bring him down in anyway, shape or form.

This includes random people continually threatening his life to employees upset because they no longer work for him (after they were well taken care of,basically spoiled) to law enforcement/officials wanting a big feather in their cap. And it also includes families that became close to him and when he was busy or him not pay as much attention or he had other friends he would spend time with, they became very angry and sometimes vindictive.

When you are or become friends with one of the most famous, powerful people in the world and are not used to it, people tend to become very controlling, exclusive and silently demanding of that relationship.
They dont even know what hit them or how to handle those feelings which they have never experienced.

Because he really was a humble guy, he would relate, invite, spend time with common people all the time. (probably a mistake)

Micheal is not stupid, IMO the remarks he made about a child sleeping in his bed while he slept on the floor were meant to really make the people after him,who have been trying to set him up for years, really angry at the same time he was saying give it all you've got because you are going to find nothing and they didnt. My feeling is he was over all their attempts to bring him down and he wanted them to get all worked up, give it their best shot, make mistakes and make fools of themselves and finally put their intentions to bag the top prize to an end.

You can say, well he made a fool of himself, but at this point no matter what he said gets twisted, manipulated and worked against him anyways. He wasn't looking for a popularity contest. Individuals in The media, county officials and LAPD can be vicious and thats been a bigger problem he always had to deal with. I am sure he figured that the fans that really care about him would stick by him and see through it all, and the fans that are looking to throw the first stone are going to anyway. As we know crowds/public are fickle. (one day "We Love You" next day "Crucify")

Its not past people/some parents to say "yeah Ill let my child spend time with MJ" and be thinking in their heart either at that moment or at a later date say, "here is my once in a lifetime chance to make millions, all ill I have to do is flip a switch and leverage MJ's fame against him and get paid off, I wont even have to pay a lawyer out of pocket"

At that level of fame its not just as simple as going to court and clearing your name

In conclusion, He had a really rough and abusive upbringing, a tough young adulthood behind the scenes, extreme popularity and success since the age of five. Who knows how to handle all this, where is the manual?

Eccentric? yes. Pedophile? I am not convinced!

He brought us a lot of joy

Good post.
I try to be careful before passing judgement.
He was weird, and he really could`ve used some help from people who craved nothing in return.
He didn`t get that help. A very special case, indeed...
