Also, Cliff instituted a 1-per-customer rule on the AxeFX II until the wait list is empty

I have never seen anything like this, blows my mind.

Half of these guys going nuts can't even really afford it to begin with and are willing to do anything to get it.

Almost as bad as folk who have a schitt ton of money tied up in gear, and can't play. ;)

Are you guys saying this is not a good deal? I've been thinking about selling a kidney to get this! :dunno:

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with; at what point can someone have "nice" gear?

I couldn't care less how well someone plays, if they're into gear and dig talking about it, that's good enough for me. If someone doesn't think I'm good enough for the gear I have, fuck 'em in the neck. :D

Listen to enough people play, and you'll come to the realization that you suck, too.

I know I have, but I learned to live with that a LONG time ago

If I could only have gear with quality equivalent to my ability, I would be plinking around through a Line 6 Spider.

I should probably be playing a Marshall JCM800 of some sort and a Fender blackface I suppose. I'm pretty good, very versatile, and have a wealth of gigging experience (25 years and hundreds of gigs, if not over a thousand). But there are at least a few guys here who can shred me into the weeds and make me feel like a friggin hack sometimes. In my hometowns I'm a heavyweight... on the world-wide-web... not so much (not even close). ;)

I figure you can move up from middle of the road gear to top level whenever you can play what you play with minimal, fluid effort. You don't have to be shredtastic either.

I don't really care how well people play either, till it comes time to jam. I find it to be a bit frustrating when you hook up with a local gearhead to jam, to only find out that you have to really limit your choice of riffs, licks and songs because they stopped learning how to get better on the guitar around the 10th grade.

As my dad would always tell me after listening to me play, "No matter how good you think you are, there is always someone better." (thanks dad :aww: )
