Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick both using the Axe-FX, had a couple Marshall power amps, but weren't turned on, no cabs, nothing, everything was direct....

Here's a pic I took.

Weren't turned on? What were they playing through durning the show, Marshalls? Looks like you were able to get close to the gear thats cool!

I was told the band was running them through the Marshall power amps.

I thought they just had a recent interview and said they were using the Digitech DSP1101

They were. Part of what I was told was that they weren't happy with that. Fairly reliable source.

I dont think Dave is happy with anything other than a Marshall head and cab. He seemed happy with Line6...for a couple months till there was an issue with reliability then went back to Marshall heads. Now Axe-FX ,wonder how long that will last?

Rams Head in Baltimore?  If they had amps on stage they could of jam'd, vocals would been the only problem then.

they didn't have shiton stage, nothing other than those covers that usually hide the cabs.... was empty back there, got the pic after the show, during those Marshall power amps, were not on. ws told by his roadie that they are going completely direct and using in-ears. Also said they haven't had to mess with sound check since getting them either.

Ahh so you have met Willie Gee! Awesome Dude!

was that his name? I recognized him, but couldn't for the life of me remember where from....

Black guy, dreadlocks, ultra friendly AND knowledgeable.

I don´t like the Axe Fx... The Solo sound are ok and as long as you are not playing cords everything is fine. But I can´t explain why but when playing open cords the sound is not good anymore.

Unless he is talking about Fred who works for Chris and Ellefson. Fred is a buddy of mine. The pony tail in that pic looks like his.

Damn, Broderick praised Engls with having that something no other amp had. I guess the Axe FX has it too. :D

Devin Townsend ditched his whole rack for a small axe-fx - 2502 rack when he went overseas and from what I hear really likes it.
