Man, Im loving mine more and more every day and every gig and Ive barely scraped the surface of what it can do....

You know, in a wierd way Carl is almost like the guy who stays on a call in radio station for hours, to only let out a string of expletives when he finally gets on air. He should have worked for Stern back in the day.

To any of you that read the initial post I apologize. I'm sick of it.

Back to on-topic, I have had one for over a month now, into a Carvin DCM power amp and 4x12, and I have never got a tone out of it that's even close to a tube amp. No warmth whatsoever. I'm about to sell it off.....

My opinion only...

I think the people who are most happy with these are either running tube amps into guitar 4x12s or running solid state amps into full range. When you run a solid state into a guitar 4x12, you can't use cab modeling and that makes a huge difference IMHO.

Some people aren't going to like it, heck some people hate Bogners and I love mine! Different strokes for different folks.

Dave - what firmware version, and just for grins, have you tried running it into a full range speaker like a PA monitor or main? Just for grins...

Pete
btw, I like how Carl disappeared. Remember, if we don't quote him then he's REALLY gone!

I run mine with a VHT power amp into a 2x12 actually and totally dig it.

Doh, I should have said tube power amp into guitar cabs. :D

Different strokes and all,

I love mine still..

almost a year ddr and I keep loving it more and more.

btw FRFR here

I was running FRFR and stereo tube amp with speaker cabs, but it didn't make so much difference that I couldn't live without the tubes and cabs.

I'm thinking about giving that one last shot, but I'm almost feeling like I'm throwing more money into the equation, you know?

Kage, send me some patches then to see what I may be doing wrong. It sounds like we're running almost identical configurations, with totally different results/opinions.

I have absolutely no experience with the AxeFX but I've owned the Randall RT2/50 power amp. It did not sound bad but the VHT 2/50/2 I now have sounds much better. It's in my Randall RM4 rig so the difference is I'm using it with a tube preamp instead of your digital monster but I still think the VHT overall is a little more transparent and musical to my ears. I was tweaking alot with the Randall and very little with the VHT.
