AxeFx guys, still happy?

I might have been the first person in this thread and almost replied but decided to not feed the troll and let the powers at be squash it. Good quick squashing by the way mods.

I don't have the Ax but have been kicking around my own thoughts on how to run my Tonelab LE. I have a Tech 21 Power Engine 60 on the way but still would love to try it with a VHT power amp.

As far as the warmth thing, I think it's just a matter of tweaking and playing around with the EQ. I currently prefer to use it with a tube poweramp but I probably wouldn't mind using it with a SS if I had to! Im confident enough now that I could get it to do what I want it to do but that's just me!!

Man, Im loving mine more and more every day and every gig and Ive barely scraped the surface of what it can do....

Still happy??? Oh hell yes! 13 months with the Ultra and don't miss my JVM halfstack one bit! There's no heavy ass bulky tube amp on the planet I want or could ever want in it's place IMO. I did the latest update over the weekend to 6.06 and damnit it only gets better! I've been extremely happy putting new V-30's in my Marshall 2X12 cab and the Carvin TS-100 has just been a perfect tube poweramp.

I play live 95% of the time but started doing some direct recording over the holidays for a new original song my band is going to do. Since I play live I don't use cab sims but since I was recording I built some patches from scratch that were just jaw dropping.

Like what I see around here, buying and selling bulky tube amps every other month in the search of tone ain't my bag.
Personally, I don't know what I'd do without the Ultra. I wouldn't mind having a second one as a backup either.

Dave, one other idea... Do you have a tube guitar head you can run the axe into the fx loop send to? See how that works, powering the axe with a tube power section. Then again, if you're tired of messing with it, might be best off just punting.

I still have mine (3 months?)....I've done some gigs with it through a 2:90 and various 4x12's but I'm not totally happy with it. But...when have I ever been totally happy with any amp?

I did just figure out how to run two amps at once and that's helped some...I'll keep tweaking I guess.

Oh, and BTW - about the 300 lbs thing, are you over 4' tall? I noticed in your vid that you have two 2x12 Bogner stacks. Reminds me of when the road crew for Dio used to place a kick drum mic stand at the center of the stage for his show.

I dont want to come off as a internet tough guy. I am actually really easy going but I would show Carl what its like. I am 6'4" btw.
