Then as soon as they get it, the new upgrade that makes it sound more amp like comes out. I had an Ultra, and I will never go that route again.

Holy shit. That is Axactly what happened to me, but instead it was a matter of days. I literally watched my 2k computer box with the shark chip get another shark chip and become known as the Axe FX 2. They dropped the price of the Ultra substantially while mine was still on the UPS truck, and basically made the ultra 2 the price of my ultra. That really flamed the shit out of me. They never entombed anything about the release, all I could do is sit home and be bummed, all the while getting Axe FX induced back and neck problems.

dude....do you have some sort of fucking problem or what? if you don't like the Axe FX, or probably aren't smart enough to work with it, then move on. you really need to pull that bone out of your ass.

And for what it's worth brother, I loved how the Axe sounded. Fantastic!, but I didn't like the interface of it with the blocks and the tiny screen and scroll and click stuff, nor the fact that my ultra's value tanked while on the UPS truck. Is it ok with you if I have an opinion of my own Friend? Just telling My story of what happened to ME dude, with the intention of giving this guy that started this thread more info to make his own decision. We are gonna get thru this dude. I'd like to see somebody do a component breakdown of the latest Axe-Fx model with prices attached to each component. I'd also like to see somebody put a timeline on DSPs because they don't follow upgrade cycles as fast as regular consumer-grade processors do.

The DSP code is the factor here. The value of the components got nothing to do with the value of the final product.

Universal Audio used the same TIgerSharc DSPs up to 4 DSPs on 1 card, delivering pro level plugins for any DAW platform. The Board, CPU, etc worth approx. 150 bucks, sold for 2000 and you need to buy each and every plugin for extra.
Is it a ripoff? No.
In the DSP age the software is the key component and besides being a dick, Cliff writes really effective code.
