I ordered 2 pickups from a seller on Reverb on the 3rd in the evening. I ordered them from a shop on the east cost (in Jersey) so I could get them as quick as possible, since I had torn a guitar apart already to prep to install them. Later that night, I had 5 star reviews and tracking numbers from where they had received the orde and packed them up ready to go, and were already picked up by a shipping partner. Unfortunately, the shop was apparently out of stock, so they shipped from a sister store way the fuck over on the entire opposite side of the country in California. I HATE when shops list stuff and don't actually have it in stock, I hate it with a passion. Anyway, both pickups showed they were picked up by a shipping partner on the 3rd and USPS was awaiting the item so they could scan it in. One showed it was picked up by USPS but never ever had any other updates until like 5 days later when it was magically scanned by my local post office and sent out for delivery, I got it on the 8th. The other, that supposedly has expedited shipping attached to it, is STILL showing it's awaiting pickup by the USPS. How long do I have to wait before I file a claim with Reverb to get my money back? Even then, I know it takes several fucking days to get your money back. If it had expedited shipping, and still hasn't been picked up by USPS, that pickup is lost in the building it was supposed to be picked up from and I'm never going to get it.

I emailed the company on Reverb, kinda bitching them out for listing it in New Jersey but not actually having it. They gave me the canned response of "we're sorry, we know you purchased due to our location, but we were out of stock so we had to ship from a partner facility. Let us know if you have any further questions". They apparently have no interest in helping figure out where my 2nd pickup is. I shouldn't have to wait forever for a package to be picked up. If it hasn't been picked up, it isn't going to magically appear here at my house and I want my damn money back so I can order the pickup from someone else and actually receive what I pay for.

When in doubt whip it out.

Man, that sucks ass, but you have learned a lesson, right?

Never order shit online expecting it to be there on a timeline. There are way too many points of failure where shit could go wrong, and people/companies suck ass.

File it asap. (Within 7 days of expected delivery I believe) Worst case it takes several days to get your money back. Best case you get your money back & the package still arrives.. Always wait to give the 5 star review once received, & inspected. If it’s ever USPS related you can DM me tracking info, & I can see if my father in law can get on that facilities ass. 3rd party I can’t help..
🙂👍🏽

Do you have the tracking? Either you or the seller file a "missing package" claim with USPS. Personally I would do it knowing it was submitted. You can do it online. I did it and within a few days it showed up.

In the meantime, let the seller know if it's not delivered by (???) you want a refund.

Yeah I've got it. Still shows it sitting in limbo God only knows where.

What are the store's ratings like? I would keep that in mind before filing a claim. The mail is bad everywhere.

I've got Reverb looking into it. It's not really the store that did something wrong, it's USPS that's fucking up, but that doesn't mean I should have to wait 3 or 4 weeks for them to randomly find that package and get it out, or just never ever get it and be out my money. That's what Reverb charges sellers for, to cover shit like this when it happens.

I absolutely don't understand listing something you don't have in your possession without that being in the listing. There is zero excuse. Even Sweetwater lets you know if an item is in stock or not...

Well I contacted Reverb and 2 days ago now, I think, they saw the package was lost after sitting a week and not having been picked up from the shipping partner the tracking number mentioned. They quickly gave me a store credit, which I used to buy another Air Norton from Reverb.

Well, a mysterious brown envelope shows up today, containing my Air Norton. It's STILL showing awaiting pickup by the USPS from the shipping partner, yet is in my hands. Well, I guess I'm going to have 2 Air Nortons now. Guess I gotta buy another guitar to put it in now 🙄

Whatever you do, make sure you wire it to a toggle switch or push-pull pot for a coil-split if you throw it in the neck position. That's where the Air Norton has most humbuckers thoroughly bested! I still have it in 2 totally different guitars (used to have it 4 times!). Tried it once as a bridge humbucker in a Les Paul; actually pretty cool tone, if you focus on classic rock and hard rock mostly. But I needed a bit more oomph and power, so went with an AT-1 eventually (after a regular Norton).

I purchased it with a Norton for the bridge. Highly considering an AT1 for another guitar. It sounds so good. Plus, Andy kicks ass.

Both awesome combo's.
The Norton will be a tad tighter, with more high-mid 'kerrang' and harmonics. The AT-1 is slightly fuller/thicker, still kick ass, but just a hint more round.

Both have an awesome split-tone.
The AT-1 and Air Norton are in this Burny Les Paul Standard from '89. Coil-splits on Bourns 500k push-pull volume pots. Superbly versatile guitar.

Well.. turns out you are one of the lucky ones who wound up with the best case scenario lol. Kudos 👍🏽
