AxeFx Ultra vs. BIAS vs. Kemper blind test

yeah, this is not a good shootout.

Pretty much horseshit.

On first take I thought the first clip (axe fx) sounded best, was a bit brighter than #2 (Kemper) which I liked.

#3 BIAS seemed like it had a bit of reverb and also was WAY louder than the others so I did not like it.

After reading the comments and finding out what was what it is clear now why Bias was louder and was tried to be made more polished than the others.

But IMO it hurts them more doing a shoot out this way. Masking, editing, post-processing.

PFFFF Nice job positive- liars.

Either way it is not apples vs apples. The only true way to do this shoot out is to profile and amp on the Kemper that is also a pre-set on the Axe and the BIAS.

Without that its apples and oranges.

Could anyone really tell what was what in a mix? Nope. That being said, we are so lucky to have some great tools to play with these days. Makes for some great variety and fun.

This is true. I love JamUp/Bias and won't quit because of this. Wish they would have done a real comparison though. Oh well.

This may have been a poor comparison but its cool to hear that Bias sounded that good, regardless of the sabotage the other two may have been victim to.

Then why not simply put out a nice demo? They HAD to slag the other two and make them sound crappier. Puts a bad taste in my mouth.

BIAS is awesome, really. I can't believe how god it sounds for the price.

Does it stand up against my axe fx 2? No. I wish it did, I would sell the axe.

When AB testing the axe is far richer and more three dimensional.

I find it hilarious BIAS chose to demo an axe fx ultra.

If they used the axe 2 the video would display completely different results.

A biased demo by PG. hurts my opinion of them.

BIAS wasn't directly responsible for the video.

Oh cool!

The APP is like $9.99
It seems to hold up pretty well against the more expensive competition.
I love my Kemper, but I may grab this APP just for fun

I've never had so much fun playing guitar as with the iOS apps. Whether they're as good as this or that, they stand up good on its own & is a total blast to play.

Can you guys tell which is which? Thought it was interesting...

Thread revival.
Yes, I've seen the results, btw. :)

The gain, eq, and effects are all at different levels.
That makes it near impossible to hear which is better.
They are all different flavors.

I can tell you which tones I like in order, but that's because I have a preference for certain tone and effect level.
The 1st one is nice and bright and cuts nicely and doesn't have a lot of verb and delay effects.
The 3rd one has nice gain, a bit more than the first one, tonally in the middle of the 1st and 2nd, but a bit much effect.
Number 2 was weak in the mix, likely due to be more of a minus mid scooped tone, and it's the one I don't like.

So in order of like; 1, 3, 2, for the high gain tones.

For clean tones I like the first one, it just needs more volume.
Number 3 was louder but tonally felt and sounded dull. Number 2 isn't bad.
Order; 1, 2, 3

I like the 3rd one!
