IMO...

Slash is a class guy who treats people right. I know him a little bit and he treated me right and I am a total NOBODY! He doesn't have a big ego, he just wants to Rock.

Slash lives to play live and he is born to do it. A consummate live guitar player. He's a shark thats keeps swimming/playing to survive. Axl was a young kid in the right place at the right time with the look and the balls to get noticed. Whether you liked it or not he had a unique voice and he went to some Shark Island shows and robbed the stage moves (google it) and he became huge. Problem was he believed the hype and his voice could never last the way he sang, it was not with any technique or moderation thats why when he was on its was killer and down and dirty Rock and Roll and then he drank honey tea all the time trying to save it for the next show. He was bound to blow up and he did. Didn't help he was a ego maniac who thought the world revolved around him. He now knows it didn't.
 
His ego is just too big .
Imagine this .He could have buried the hatchet with Slash in January
Taken 2 or 3 months off the road gotten a vocal coach ,Gotten a personal trainer ,Shaved
Shown up at the RNR hall of fame induction Fit leaner ,and with a better voice he has in years
And he would have been the cats ass .In fact a lot would have be forgiven
Plus promoters knocking at the door with millions of dollars.
I hope maintaing his reputation of my way and holding grudges is worth it
 
The guitarist goes into U2s Sunday Bloody Sunday at the end. Cool and Funny
 
The title of the thread is the biggest no brainier statement I have heard in awhile!

Wow he really is that bad. I did watch a video of him playing that same show probably 20 years ago and he kinda sounded like shit then.

If you haven't played in band were the singer thinks that he is THE band then u just haven't lived yet. :lol: :LOL:

wow....i had no idea his voice had turned into crap... i Just watched the video....sounds like a middle aged woman with no talent singing...man...karma is a Bi*ch
 
Agree, Slash is a swimmer and Axl is a ego maniac. I remember seeing GNR opening for Aerosmith way back at Riverbend in Cincinnati. It was a trainwreck! Everything was for GNR onstage. But, I knew their condition from the evening before. Everyone in GNR attended the Killer Dwarfs and Smashed Glady's show exept Axl at Bogarts. The funny thing is, the only one straight at that time was Steven Adler. I sat with him and a few girls (haha) at a table on the balconey. Steve was a sweet genuine charismatic dude. Completely down to earth. Slash was about 10 ft. away, holding the wall up at the balconey's top of the stairs, with a roadie looking after him. He was completely trashed to say the least..his speech and drewl was a clear indication (it's RNR). Duff and Izzy mingled. I believe Duff was to marry the bass player to Vixon that coming next weekend. I think it turned into a kinda bachlor party that night (Axl excluded..I must mention). What happened on Smashed Glady's bus was insane.(GNR bus was parked behind Smashed Glady's). Oh what groupies will do with a Korona bottle and other objects (use your imagination)..That was all Duff and Izzy's doing.. I was just there..lol. Well the female singer from Smashed Glady's was nuts too. Anytime I run into Brian or any of the Killer Dwarf guys..we have joked about it over the years. I was the last one with the Korona bottle (I thank Brian for that smell my finger moment)..I threw it on the ground. After realizing where it had been... Back on point.. I think Axl has always alienated himself from the band with his ego. I think he is jealous of Slash and full of some rightous pride. Slash and Duff got smart (they swim). Steve got himself caught up in Rock-n-Roll. He's just happy to be alive now. As far as DJ Ashba and Ron Thal being hired guns. I understand it. Both are tremendous guitar players. DJ is a super nice dude (I met him a few times). He is also a talented artist and marketing genious. DJ Ashba will have a long career. I also met Ron at the Vigier Guitars booth at last years NAMM. Seems like a cool guy. But outside of us guitar players..who knows "Bumblefoot" ? So, I relate to why their playing with the ego dousch career wise. The shows and crowds are much bigger outside the USA..great exposure with Beatlesized mania.. I seen "Shark Island" way back with Badlands or Lynchmob. I agree there too.. :)

I was just watching a Youtube vid yesterday from the early 90's and Axl was on stage going on a tirade about Metallica and how he thought they were friends, etc.
 
Jesus, I fucking hate this guy....I couldnt even watch the whole video....

I dont know whats worse, the fact that he can not sing good AT ALL, or the fact that there are like 5 guitarists on stage playing someone elses shit.. I hate it....If I were slash i would have hired some hitmen by now.
