Back to the Metal!!!

man seems like I've been chasing my tail for years with music. played blues, funk, techno, I'm even in a country band which is pretty fun but I'm not playing any music I would ever listen to (except some brad paisley stuff we do is pretty cool). anyway, man I grew up playing/listening to metal but somehow I got so far from that. Something clicked a while back and man I've been in total metal mode. Been digging Iced Earth, Arch enemy, Release the Archers and some of the symphony metal bands like Nightwish as well. So it seemed natural to make my band PowerTribe's next cd an all out metal cd. The wifey has some good pipes so we're putting them to work! here's a sample of a tune on the cd and there's a good look at my wall of doom for recording too. Ready to Rock

Yep, I bought a 60's Marshall clone a while back thinking I'd start playing a lot more classic rock and honestly I haven't. I'm a metal head through and through when it comes to playing I guess. Now to decide whether to unload that Marshall clone.

Your drum track is basically a step-up from a metronome.
SO... work on making the drums more "busy".
Great so far though, keep working on it. Maybe try some keyboard in the mix?
I love strings, piano, horns, etc, It's all layers and textures.
Don't be afraid to experiment.

I like using plexis' for soloing and heavier amps for rhythms - you might still have a use for it!!
