Well another TGP casualty. I was scammed 2 weeks ago on an early 2000's R9, a good deal not a OMG this can't be real deal. Saw the classified posted early, so the seller and I negotiated payment/shipping/etc. Luckily I requested PP business payment.
Within 30 mins of listing another member replies with a link to exact copy of pics and description from an ad over 5 years old. Realizing it was now a scam I contact PP and AMEX to file dispute. TGP gets notified, ad taken down, I do get my funds back but did take 2 weeks for PP to investigate, all good no harm done. Just be more careful next time.
Moving on, yesterday a highly rated member posts 2 listings LP R9's, again not fantastic prices, but similar to current market. But the listings from the same person were just a llitle too different, making me suspicious. Different backgrounds, different angles and quality of pics, better description on one and barely any on the other. So I message the seller and ask for a specific pic that wasn't posted: back of headstock including serial or partial if thats your thing and the inside of the COA. 24 hours no reply, although I can see them greenlight and online. I make a very polite reply to the ad warning other TGP'ers to be cautious about the listing and get an immediate reply in my messages from the member, again very sus. Apologizes, lost my message, give me your number lets Facetime etc. (won't give me his number, only wants mine) I ask again for the pics, and they make excuse after excuse. Then they reply that they are going to report me to admin, alrighty....I can do that too.
In the end, here I am thinking I'm helping other members from a fraudulent listing and going through what I just experienced with PP and Amex.....and I get banned? WTF
Haven't been here in a while, sorry for the rant. Anyone have a R9 for $1000, I'm your guy. lol
