So, I got banned from TGP yesterday

A members account was hacked. I tried purchasing an amp. Send the money via PP G&S and the guy flaked. I emailed the address I sent the PP funds and the guy responded right away. Said something like you bought tickets from me. So the hacker created a loop. I will get my money back so not a big deal. However I created a thread complaining that TGP doesn't do enough to keep scammers out. TGP responded by banning me. I was a member since 2002.

I appreciate how Rig Talk has some protections in place. You have to be a member to post for sale. You are required to use 2 factor authentication.
Seems easy enough. There are more and more scammers out there these days.
 
These days I wouldn’t do a purchase on a forum without a phone call at least or a FaceTime, that includes the gear, at best. Doesn’t matter who it is and what their reputation is, just for the reason that they may indeed be hacked. I would have zero issue if I was selling something doing the same for a buyer.
Maybe if we actually had a little more face-to-face, there would be less anonymous, chaotic, bullshit in some of these threads.

I don't require that, but if someone asked I would have no problem doing a facetime or something like that either. I don't think that's a tall ask at all.

Yeah honestly some shady shit goes on with members accounts getting hacked. For example I received a suspension too but I noticed someone has been looking through my notifications.......

Big Mikes actually hasn't been a mod for some years now and Scott Peterson unfortunately left as moderator/co-founder not too long ago around June/July of last year........ and that's when it began......




Peterson was kind of like the last person and mod keeping TGP afloat to some sensible degree......




Now it's just a shit show thanks to the A-Bone crowd.

Honestly, TGP hasn't been the same in many many years. I miss the old days of trading gear with the same 30-40 guys. It was pretty fun.

I just have no tolerance for scammy sites.. That site is overrun by scammers. Fuck them.

I would love the face to face. We gotta have a party sometime and all get together. I would like to meet so many of you. The ones i have met in person, I have liked a lot.

There is one special member on this forum i would like to meet so very much. But that is more to put my hands on him. I call him training bra.

I saw that thread over there and was surprised they let it run for so long.
 
tgp has gone downhill from a security standpoint...accounts have been getting hacked daily over there. I did many high price guitar and amp deals on there many years ago.

I mean Tag isn't so bad......but for a dude that doesn't believe in UFOs or whatever the hell he sure talks about them all the time..... everyday as much as he can :LOL:



And Yeah A-Bone is just the worst..... and a lot of the forum and how garbage it is now is thanks to dudes like that and that type of crowd IMO. Simply insufferable.
