Great pickup. I like them along with the Rebel Yell's and Aftermaths. The Black Dog does everything well IMO.

Hey, necro-post...

And ya, I'm still loving my BDs in that very same Lester, just FYI.

good to know Mo, I'm hoping they put some magic into the SG...my guess is yes, they will.

I have a set in a PRS singlecut trem satin. Replaced the stock PRS 6 pickups. Lowered the overall output but added a lot of definition to the sound of the instrument and added a bit of mid body that was missing. The singlecut trem is basically a CU22 trem with a single cutaway, the pronounced mids definitely helped this guitar. The overall spectrum response is very pleasing particularly with high gain amps where a thinner, maple-topped guitar can get a little brittle sounding. The versatility and dynamic range of the pickups is amazing, highly responsive to small changes in your picking. I will add a vote to the neck being the velvetiest/juciest neck pickup I've tried. They do well clean to all out distortion because they are only slightly hotter than a PAF or PRS 57/08's. If you have a slightly thinner sounding mahogany guitar, or a guitar with hot pickups that smear the character of the instrument the BDs will do well.

Got the Black Dogs and swapped them into my SG, they're killer. Guitar sounds great, looks great...hard to beat that.
