Anyone check it out? Sounds and looks like a mean pickup for Metal. Suppossed to have killer low growly mids.

F*ck me!!! I wwas JUST about to post this exact thread topic!!

Well, if it's BKP, it's probably pretty sweet - triple ceramics - that's gotta have some PUNCH :boxer: to it!!

I actually got the newsletter on it early in the week. I meant to post it but accidenatlly deleted it. I asked Tim to resend it. Tim is a way cool Dude. I have been talking to him for like six years or longer now. I remember finding BK before he was big. Right after he started selling to the US. I got my first set and was blown away by them back them. I don't play just metal, but I like to have a guitar with stronger pickups in it. I have a Vigier I have been meaning to put this Miracle Man set in for like five months now. I keep picking up my Suhr and tinkering with my Marshall. Just finished with the JMP Friedman/Trace and put it back in the shell. Getting a Twin Jet in two weeks from Bogner. I bet the Aftermath and that amp will kill things, like my marriage. She just told me tonight my MK50 and Friedman/Trace is welcome but the TJ is not.( I want to give Trace some props, He is Dave's apprentice 22 years old and soldering amps since he was 15, He does allot of the labor.) I talked to him the other day for a while and was impressed.

I have a been a long time BKP user as well. Got my first one probably 4 or 5 years ago. I have them in all of my guitars these days. I have Warpigs (Ceramic and A5), Painkiller, Nailbomb (A5), and Piledriver Tele set. Love them all.

The Aftermath sounds like it is going to kick ass. I got the newsletter as well. Here is the text from the email:

Aftermath Humbucker
The long awaited and latest addition to the Bare Knuckle range, the Aftermath humbucker is now available in the online store. Designed for the high gain rock and metal player looking for extremely tight and aggressive tone, the Aftermath features a symmetrically hand-wound twin screw coil configuration and is powered by 3 custom size ceramic magnets. The bottom end responds quickly to pick attack and tracks fast riffing exceptionally well, mids are focused and intense for ultimate punch no matter how dense the mix and highs are precise and articulate. Check out the demo by Misha Mansoor (Bulb/Periphery) here.

The only thing I don't like about BKP's and I have several sets, is the 4 conductor wiring. Give me vintage!

It's an order option. Just order them with vintage wiring and you got it.

Ah, yeah I knew that. I should have clarified. Most US vendors order 4 conductor wiring, so buying from stock usually won't be vintage. Exactly what percentage of folks require 4 conductor wiring? Not many.

Just tape up the 2 wires and you have "vintage."

Since getting into BKP personally, I've opted for 4 wire on all of 'em so that I can split them into singles. I love the flexibility.

Just sayin'...

Anf hey, as for a cat who's worth his weight in verbal gold - have ya ever heard Tim shred? I mean, that cat can go balls deep with playing - DAMN good player, which made me go  when thinking about ordering pups from his company a few years ago...

I got the email too, and the pickup sounds to be amazing, but I'm REALLY on the fence about what pickup to get!

I tried four different sets in my LPC and the Rebell Yells won it for me in that guitar.

I'm using the same pickup in all my guitars....they are all the same HA! so I want something that will be consistent.

I wish he made a blade type pickup. I'll have to give either the ceramic warpig or this aftermath one a try.

I like the pickups I have but feel I could get more out of the guitar still...

Cheers!

C

Currently deciding between the Aftermath and the Warpig. Been asking around for peoples suggestions. But I think the sample by Adam Getgood sold me for the Aftermath. But then, I want that overly thick bottom end!!!! Still in the market for the ceramic Warpig, but damn these pickups are sexy as hell.

Choices, choices, and Im strapped as hell for cash as it is. ARGGGGG

Rebel Yell was one of my choices as was Painkiller and now Aftermath, decisions..... What was it that sold you on the Rebel Yell?

I cannot put my finger completely on it, but I know it had to do with the smoothness of the upper mids, low treble. The pickup just sounded better and more balanced than the others I had tried in the LPC.

Thanks for the input, I will give that one a go first then, I have a feeling I will love it!!

If you're in Saudi, ordering from England should be both faster and cheaper? :)
