The BBQ was extremely clear and it had a smoothed off top end which was nice.
I think the smoothness is what I like about it. Ever play one in any other guitars at all?

Also i should mention.. the other BK pickup i am considering, is the Rebel Yell Steve Stevens humbucker. If anyone has used that one too, lets hear your thoughts!
I had one in my Korina Hamer and found it a bit bright, but sounds really good. It's a lot like the Holy Diver I have right now (i'm selling it). I think the Bare Knuckle pickups are some of the best (no noise at all!). I just have to find one that sounds more to my liking (I don't like bright pickups).

Try the Pain Killer or Nail Bomb, both are on the darker side IMO.

JB how would you descrive the RY to the HD? I had a JB in LP, changed it to a Aldrich and am curious about the HD or NB.

JB wasn't bad, but low end was bit mushy. Aldrich was clear. Articulate but lacking some warmth.

So curious about the HD or RY since you had both.

Also have a SD Custom with the Alnico 5 in another and love it because it is so big sounding even though less power. Less compression I imagine. But would like to comare to BBQ or WCR Godwoods.
