BareKnuckle vs. Custom pickups

Peerless is selling below BKP's MAP pricing which is set by Tim...not sure how they're doing that? That's why if you read my post again it says we sell "as low as BKP will allow". That's all I meant. Anyway, I was just trying to be helpful too, nothing meant towards your post...it was just more information to our fellow Rigtalkers!

(btw our standard open sets are $309, not $329...and covered sets with are $329 not $369. Signature models like RY and Crawler are a little more, and custom covers like aged or camo are more too)

sorry about that didn't mean to mis quote your prices ill edit my previous post. it seems peerless doesn't charge for the custom covers differently than the plain covers, or its a secret fee once you order.

Violating MAP pricing will get your dealership yanked in most cases.

shit, hopefully I didn't just assfuck peerless by trying to be helpful.

Though it's not like Tim BK couldn't just surf over there himself, he obviously knows his own dealers.

Tim's awesome...I'm sure it's no biggie. It's more of a loose rule with him, I'm sure it's not a problem if you sell a few bucks below. I think it's more about getting a dealership and going and selling them on ebay for super-cheap because you don't have an actual store.

Right now I'm talking to Wade about makeing a custom.

We'll see where we go from there.

Thank you very much luxxtone for the responses, like I said, if I do decide to go the BK route I will go through you.

Oh, and on the double creme fiasco, I've known of some builders that would do double creme and tak a cover on it, so when you get it you can just take it off.

Hello guys!

I own both BK pick ups and french ones called SP Customs pick ups which are also hand wound.

The BK are very good. There is a giant step with the SD, Di marzzio and others...
BUT the SP Customs are... better.
Google it. they have lot of samples on their website.
I have BK Irish Tour and Nailbomb on a Jackson SL1 and SPCustom Boom Leecher and Heat Crusher on a RR1. Honnestly, the Dynamic of the Boom Leecher (which is between a single and humbucker) is far superior to the Irish tour. My only complain is maybe a lack of thickness, but it's about your own taste...

You have to give them a try

Had a talk with Tim over at Bare Knuckle, and we were able to lower our prices on all BKP pickups by $10.00. So now everythings even cheaper! Thanks to the dollar being a little stronger over the British pound, we were able to knock the prices down a little more. Hope that helps! And you definitely can't go wrong with the Motor City stuff either....all great.

How much for a set of Miracle Mans? I have an Ernie Ball Petrucci (non BFR basswood guitar). I have been told these are a great fit for basswood, is this true?

Uncovered sets are $299, covered sets are $319. Uncovered singles are $149.
Check out the luxxtone.com website for everything in stock.......

I wouldn't say the Miracle Man is particularly better in basswood than any other wood, jsut depends on the individual guitar and your amp also. The Miracle Mans are super tight and punchy, with a lot of chug in the low end and a very tight and focused mid. It has a ceramic magnet, so it's got that type of tightness to it. Great metal pickup, think of it as a more articulate, passive EMG with a wider frequency range.
