Not many clips on the Baron clean channels. Here's my K88s clean channel with or without a Boss RV-5. Pretty clean huhh?

Info...

Baron K88 clean channel going to my loadbox's line out and into my Saffore Pro24 interface. Impulses were lolzgregs impulses. The RV-5 was in my FX loop.

Plate reverb. All setting on the pedal are noon. Dimarzio Evolution in the neck

Here's a clip without the pedal at all. Dimarzio Evolution in the neck.

Modulation setting. Settings Noon. Dimarzio Evolution in the neck.

Modulation setting. All Noon. Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge.

Also have this clip of a my Baron comparing to a 5150.

First Baron then 5150 then both.

Yeah if you're not looking for clean tones I would go for it. Best of both the K88 and B series in one!

Yeah who plays clean tones anyway ;) How is the feel in the Baron amps? Are they nice and squishy or more straight ahead/ focused and tight?

Focused and tight. All the gain you could ever want but that valve tone still shines through.

Yeah definitely tight and focused but with a lot of gain you can push some squish out of it I suppose. The amp is very clear and isn't the slightest bit noisy at all. I'm debating on even keeping my ISP but I know for shows I'll probably need it due to power differences everywhere and other things like that.

Here's another heavy clip of the K88.

Tubescreamer right. None left.

Lead channel B.

Gain - Noon
Treble - Noon
Mids - 2 o clock
Bass - 2:30
Level - 2:30
Master - 7:30 (Pretty low because of recording with my loadbox.)

Using Catharsis Impulse

Nice vids LP Freak. I see you've done many amps, how did this one stack up in your opinion?

This was my amp but not my clip. The Baron stuff is top notch with some of the best customer service out there.

I would rather they not get overhyped, that way reviews and users say what they REALLY think about the amp, and are not blinded by all the hype. Hype generally leads to higher expectations and much easier let downs, while clouding the truth about the product. Sometimes, yes, the hype DOES hold true, but in today's world, that has become very rare.

So tight and focused is the consensus. The DHG series amp says it has a normal and tight power amp switch. I definitely lean towards the normal spongy power section. I am sure since they are custom that a spongy/mesa roadster like power amp switch wouldn't be too hard?

Yeah they definitely aren't all that tight and focused. The switch does make a pretty prominent change in tone. But like you said since they are custom you might be able to get it spongier.

I can't get over how good this amp sounds for the money. Top it off with the ability to be customizable is golden!

Well I meant known, not exactly hype I guess. It'd be nice to hear what others would say about these amps as I've found them absolutely fantastic. I'd had a lot of people try it and love it, in fact, I'm going out in a few days to a few guys who love music equipment, jam with them, and hear what they have to say.

It's really easy to dial in a good sound yet you can dial in a lot of different tones. They are just really nice amps that I'd like to hear more people talk about haha.

but who's Anchovy amps?

Anchovy Amps is a good friend of mine who with myself designed the Snott Watt. I did the preamp and he did the poweramp section. He doesn't make amps but only for friends. So I have his name also on the faceplate of the Snott Watt since it was originally his idea for a small 12BH7 amp and we both designed and tweaked the amp to its current state.

I remember speaking to Carl Williams about the predecessor to this amp years ago when he had developed the 12 Bh7 output section that sounds great* and I heard a few clips and wanted more gain which through your collaboration looks like is definitely there with a LOT of features not found in any mini amp.

* This amp has a premium output transformer that Carl Williams originally had made for the 12BH7 which sounds great with it and then apparently Baron added lots of gain and other features like line out etc. second channel, vintage/modern .

Does this work very well into Cab Impulses, by using the recording load feature ?

Should be a killer recording amp because it has the output section tone in the line signal- very rare feature in any amp.

It worked very well for me. I have a bunch of clips with it using impulses. Not sure if you dig the genre but it's very clear.

Snott Watt -> Line out -> Interface -> DAW -> lolzgreg impulses.

The amp literally sat on my desk into my interface without a cab for a month.

Just played through my computer speakers. Was also nice because this way you can hear the end result of what it will sound like through your speakers/monitos, play, and tweak.

It sounds very good- though not that familiar with Modern Metal- I appreciate that you guys are coming up with some stuff we haven't heard over and over for the last 20 or more years, and the precise rhythms and high level of musicianship I appreciate.

The first instrumental track you did on the list is cool, creative rhythms and voicings and I like when the cleaner parts come in-the little amp sounds huge and good definition on the chords.

Sounds like the little Head kicks butt- and you're right I'll be more interested in 60's to 80's type tones but hopefully I'll be doing something a little different with them.....

As you turn the master up -even direct is there some of the 12BH7 power section in the signal?

The line out signal is from the power section with a reduced output..

Between the vintage channel and modern it should cover your 60's and 80's sounds easily
