Based on you playing style, what amps tend to suit you??

I love Framus, Marshall, and Mesa Rectifiers; Fender types for clean and dirt. Diezel and Mesa Marks I have an awful time playing! Strange, I like when others play it, but just seems like a square peg/round hole when I jam through  Must be my slop technique

I have strayed with bogner, mesa, fender, etc, but I always come back to Marshalls, either old modded jmp's or early jcm's as I just love the marshall british voicing. I am really thinking of taking the plunge on a Orange rockerverb 50 or a Budda Superdrive , which would u recomend ?? I tried a used rockerverb 50 and loved it. My only complaint with the rv was that the reverb was unuseable after turned to 2 or 3 which wasnt really a big deal. I never tried a budda but some of the clips sound nice.

Ventura, we know you can play anything man! don't rub it on our faces! :D
Jaaaaaaaayzeus man - I'm blushing!!

Seriously, I'm still trying on new sounds and textures and tones. I'm a mega Bogner and Diezel fanboi, we all know this. But I'm also starting to understand that playing these [outrageously awesome and beautifully sounding] amps sometimes pigeonholes me too. I've been cracking open the throttle on this recently acquired Mak4... You know what I love about it?? It sounds like it's not trying to sound like something else. I can make it sound how I want it to, and so far, this is really making me happy. It's large, loud, got some grit and looseness but uber focused low end to it... I am seriously, seriously loving this preamp through the Fryette 2/90/2 and into a Fryette Deliverance. It's pure legend!!

Now, back to working on my pathetic chops so I can actually record some clips!!

Peace
Mo/V.

So for it's been an early EL34 Bogner Shiva. I can't think of anything it CAN'T be used for.

I'm not very good, so I prefer loud amps. The louder the better. If you can't be good you should at least be loud...

For me I guess it would be a Marshall type tone???

I really liked my ADA MP1 through a Mesa 2:90 power amp. But the bottom end could have been a little tighter.

I am starting to gas for the Egnater Armageddon.

I am hoping the next amp is the one, the last amp I will ever have to buy. :2thumbsup:

I really like variety, that suits what I play too.

As far as feel, I really like Vox amps. They respond to your playing like no other amp I have found.
As far as sound Fenders, particular BF amps. I just love the clean of a good BF Fender.
Distortion sound, I love the distortion of my Marshall Silver Jubilee
And lead playing, the mesa mark IVA is awesome for those smooth liquid leads.

I have found that if amps are too tight and compressed, they don't suit me much, though for somethings I do, those type of amps would be great.

Most models from Fender and Vox, as well 70's era Marshall amps. Nothing really tight and high gain for me.

my favs are
Diezel
Splawn
Hughes&Kettner
Bogner
Fender

can get everything i need outta those.

Mark series or Marshall. I used to own a Fender Blackface a long time ago that I loved to play through.

I like having different amps for different contexts. Playing with a blues or blues rock type of band? I grab my '59 Bassman RI. Playing some modern/indie rock? Grab my AC30. Anything metal? Uberschall still gives me chills every time I open her up and let her rip. Jazzy? My 70s ES-175 into any of my fenders does the trick. I've tried mega multi channel amps like the XTC and H&K Triamp MKII, but just always felt I was compromising compared to what these 3 amps bring for me. Luckily, for me, live I only need 1 at a time. Each can handle the style of music I'd be playing perfectly. I could live with the AC30 and a couple stomps for anything but metal if it came down to it.

As far as my playing style I have to go with modded Marshalls.

As far as my personality I have to go with the "Fucking Fucker!"

For what I'm playing... reference here:

Basically in a nutshell, I'm very much into a 'guitar based' vibe as far as recording or a band mix goes. Very thick, punchy tones for rhythm, and then either a killer raunchy EL34 based lead tone, or a smoother more midrange heavy tone that usually comes from 6L6s. In my experience it seems to change from day to day what I prefer. Having owned both, I have to say that the Mesa type 6L6s SOUNDED more consistent and probably 'better,' but the EL34 based amps like my old Splawn Quick Rod just made the room fill with tone that I swore was sonic satori. So I guess I'd have to say British voiced amps like the Splawns, CAEs, older modded Marshalls, etc are what I feel sounds and FEELS best to me. Often I find the Mesa type amps are almost TOO forgiving and they make my sound and playing fairly generic. The British voiced amps really allow me to dig in and PLAY my guitar for all that it's worth.

For me My 20th X, my Mesa MK III and Axe-Fx.

The 20th X covers my Fender Cleans and Marshall Plexi tones and the Mesa …..well does the Mesa tones. I also like the Soldano SLO100 for leads. :D Pretty much covers me and no more amp gas.
