OK. I watched the videos. I don't get the point
Nothing, just found it kind of rude that I posted two things for people to check out, was hoping to get some seasoned expert opinions on my tone/technique, and got deliberately ignored twice. I think people do that kind of stuff intentionally to be assholes. I know you guys saw my post. That’s all. No real big deal. Just found it rude.

I think a significant portion of the population here are offended that you play guitar, and aren't into just buying the "amp of the day"

Sounded great!

Someone once said; "...if assholes could fly, Rig-Talk would be an airport."

In reality, RT is for people who don't get along on politically correct forums. Stick around, you'll love it!

Want to start playing country. Looking to be pointed in the right direction for gear.

Telecaster is a given, but which one? Looking to spend more on the guitar than the amp. Willing to spend between $500- $1,500. Suggestions? Links would be appreciated.

For amp, looking for something good for both gigging and home. Not wanting to drop a tone of money into a high dollar fender. Are there any more affordable quality alternatives good for twangy, tele country pickin? Someone told me Peavey classic 30. Suggestions? Thanks.
Any number of American Fender Tele's will get you there, and they are fairly cheap. The Fender "Richie Kotzen" Tele is can double as a country/rock guitar with ease. The neck is fairly large, so you can modify it to your liking.

The VOX AC15 Heritage is a stellar amplifier, that just LOVES single coil pickups. If you're not into that sound, I'd look to getting a Fender combo.

i watched both... and both are good clips.

Few things to note:
a) don't be offended....RT requires thick skin at times
b) the chicken-pickin was very good...the Washburn sounds good, and honestly, if you want to be "different" play that on the country scene, not a tele. people rarely will give a F'k what you're playing, but if you begin to rip on that thing, you may turn heads. if you'd rather have a tele, then buy a tele. Personally, as many PHENOMENAL Teles as there are on the used market ATM...no way in hell i'd buy a new one, but I opine, and it's your $$, so do ya' thang.
c) you confused the F'k out of everyone, i guess... you were talking about getting into country music, named a few country artists you dig, then laid down a dokken clip on a WG, via DSL
d) i thought the DSL sounded really good, and though i'm EVH Fanboi, that blue WG is bithcin... i'd play that amp, and that guitar in a country scene, especially if you're going to play modern country.

carry on.

Which tele is a personal preference thing, just need to get your hands on a few a feel them out. It's such a HUGE range that it would be tough to make a couple of legit suggestions. I've got an MJT, an 80's MIJ reissue, had a few others, all were cool in their own way. The new fender stuff is really good. Someone mentioned Strats above for country - I completely agree. 2nd position into a great amp with slapback and compressor will elicit some really fantastic sounds.

Amps - Deluxe Reverb, AC15/30, Dr. Z Maz, or the Peavy Classic 30 are all fantastic for country. Get your compressor ready too, such an integral part of the tone. For that 70's outlaw feel, don't be afraid to throw a phaser in front. Newer country definitely has some grit and grind but your trusty TS style pedal will more than cover what you need.

Good luck!

I agree with the "if assholes could fly" comment. Your playing is good. As others said the dokken clip threw me off.

I have a solid recommendation and it was ignored (which tbh it doesn't matter), but a MIM Tele with dimarzio twang kings and a silverface twin. Under budget even. Install a four way switch and throw a good NOS tone PIO cap in there and you are golden. I have the same thing but four USA teles (twang kings are only in one).

It kills. I MAY be able to post a quick clip in the next few days. Find a mid '90's MIM. I find those best. Over the years I have gone through over 20 MIM fenders. (I was flipping them for a bit).

Another option is a strat with a twang banger in the bridge. Sounds pretty authentic Tele to IMO YMMV, etc.

You haven't played very many bars/clubs? You will get that reaction in real time.

Telecaster of your choice (think G&L)...perfect amp is a Fender Hot Rod deluxe OR deville, depending on what top end volume you want.... you can get crystal cleans and punchy dirt at virtually any volume level out of these things...reverb is also excellent...

I would also get an MXR carbon copy for the slap back delay in a simple stompbox format...and also add in a compressor pedal (a stupid little MXR dynacomp works quite well)..

If you are wanting to gig the small country venues, avoid the amp altogether and just get the guitar and pedals..add in a Strymon Iridium..that way you go straight into the mixer and avoid arguments with the volume nazi's , and it sounds pretty good too, and in Stereo

Classic 50 2x12 would be even better than a 30!

That said, a Fender Hot Rod can be found cheap, or even a Bassbreaker.
