Bay Leaves?

Went to local market to buy some bay leaves.
There was just 1 small jar of shitty little broken pieces in the entire store.
The store carries 3 brands of spices, all 3 empty of bay leaves. Then i remembered Goya. Also empty spot on the shelf.
Is there some kind of bay leaf shortage?

My stepmom had a bayleaf tree that was, like, 4 or 5m tall; it was huge.

I know they grow wild in many locations.
That doesn't really help me right now though

I feel your pain brother.

In all the years she lived there I only managed to grab one small jar of leaves that I picked myself.

Had I known she and my ol' man were going to move interstate I'd have gone scorched-earth on that tree.

Oh, I only found out that it was a bayleaf tree less than a year before the move. I'd seen it there for decades but didn't realise what it was.
