Yeah, yeah, the gushfest is in full effect lol. Had the pedal for a few days now, really like it - it delivers the goods. The pedal turns the SB clean/plexi channel into a lead channel, HBE style (though I've never personally played a BE100).

I layed out some chords from the SB as clean as I could get them (which I think its plexi channel can be as clean as any vintage fender IMO), then came back and played some lines over that with the BE Pedal engaged (same amp settings, etc) only I switched up guitars for a little depth I guess (hate using the same guitar in a mix for everything).

That is AWESOME Derek! I want to play like you when I grow up. :D That clip reminds me of Jason Becker. You just sold me on getting one of these for my Small Box.

Nice clip. Your clip doesn't have that harsh and scratchy high end I hear in all of the other clips.

I am still waiting for mine to use with my smallbox. Are you using the bright switch? I typically have it on the second most bright setting.

Thanks erbody! Jason Becker?! Yeah, if only haha! I WISH! But thanks for that!

Haven't tried it with the SLO yet, but of course eventually that'll happen for shits and grins.

I'll try to bump this later today with a couple more short clips, like a simple chunky rhythm thing and maybe trying it as a boost with the SB already a little crunchy.

FWIW - the cleans were actually played with a US Pro Mod (Super Dist in the bridge) and get this, a Super 2 in the neck (which is what I used here). The lead was an Ibanez (mahogany w/maple top). The cab is an old Marshall with 55hz Blackbacks (psychodave - you turned many of us on to those blackbacks years ago, been a user/fan ever since ). That was mic'd with a 57 & e906. Got an ole Lexicon MPX 550 in the loop for a hint of delay/verb. Cubase. Done. No post EQing, processing, etc.

The pedal trim pot was at 2:00 and the gain knob at 11:00 yet it was still so gainy - I think I'll be turning the trim pot down to noon-ish today. Other pedal knobs were close to noon, tight knob around 2:00. Pretty easy pedal to dial in, not sure why some clips are having harsh high end...and honestly, blackbacks have more teeth and anger than any speakers I currently can mic (G12M's, which are warner and more chewy), V30's, Smallblocks (love my Soldano with those), etc, but the pedal sounds well balanced to me through 'em.

EDIT: mniel8195...I had the bright switch set to the right for the cleans, back to the middle for the pedal use.

Thanks Buckeye!

Had time to knock out a medium gain crunch clip. The trim pot is now down to 12:00. Gain dial on the pedal still at 11:00 (hell, no dials changed from previous clip). I'd have to crank the gain knob up some for full blown lead playing, you can hear that in the little dribbling at the end, that type thing would need a bit more juice (which the pedal has in spades - and it doesn't change character when you crank the gain, you just have more saturation) but otherwise, man, what a serious crunch from a totally clean amp and pedal.

Thank you!

Thanks Browns Fan, JRocks, Rusty, appreciate the input!

One more for today...

Tried it as a boost. Got the SB set for a medium to medium/light crunch on the BE channel, then kicked the pedal in to really piss it off. You should clearly hear when I hit the pedal, but just in case, I played a few chords to get going, then hit the pedal for the 80's riffs (Loudness, Lynch and since somebody mentioned Becker, well, I gave it a shot lol), kicked it off again at the end for a pretty stark reminder of the difference.
