looking to buy one or the other. Love the clips of both.

Would be used for rock cover band mainly. Reasonable cleans are a necessity.

I must be missing something because I thought they were basically the same amp with one having some tweaks for Jerry.

Yeah, I've heard they are basically the same amp with the JJ have the add gain mode. Of course I do not own either, just what I have heard.

Same here, as I thought they were both the same platform......but the JJ had some additional tweaks and gain mods.

Hopefully Dave F. will chime in and help differentiate them a little better.

I'm going to own a BE100 one day. To my ears the BE100 has a tigher bottom end and flare. Seems to be a little more versatile. I was sold after hearing this demo  :

BE, C45 is the best sound out the amps, HBE has a tone of gain, the JJ I heard was eh ....

I've heard from a few people who have owned both that the JJ kicks serious ass. I think the guy above has it backwards the JJ is tighter on the lows. I have owned the BE-100, cool amp but the JJ sparks my interest more now.

I own a BE100 but have never played the JJ. From
What I've read the clean channels are not the same, the BE channel is but (obviously) the HBE and JJ channels are different. I don't know if the JJ has the same switches the BE100 does, but I've also read if you're going to buy a JJ make sure to order it from Dave and request at least a separate JJ master if not gain knob as the JJ is noticbly quieter than the BE channel...essentially making it a two channel amp in a live situation
