What do you guys like? I've been using nyxl's since they started making them in my gauges. Having said that I've only used elixirs or for a stint there SOB's. For the last ten years. The first 15 years of my guitar "journey" I used whatever the shop down the road had... Usually Ernie Balls and I know for a fact I can't really gel with those so they're off the table. This has only come up because my Mayones came from a shop sporting some string in my tuning that I dug the feel of and sounded good. I asked the shop and they thought they were either Ernie Balls or SIT. I wouldn't even be mad if they were Ernie actually because they always felt great just sound was lifeless shortly after. I had to micrometer the strings to find out the gauge which were 10-52's... And EB AND SIT BOTH USE THE SAME GAUGES... So no help there. I put on a set of nyxl's in that gauge since I normally do a set of 11's and a 56 on top in drop c# ...they were tighter than the 11's on the prs... So now that I'm off my soap box. What are some amazing sounding strings that aren't hard on the fret and have some brilliance or at least good tone even if it's not bright and have a little give. Searching for opinions and suggestions before trying the obvious and getting some SIT and EB to try. Just wish I could get the sound of the nyxl's without the stiffness. Guess I could just man up.
