Beato on the downfall of Rock music

I already posted this in the regular forum. It dropped like a rock..

I thought it was enlightening.. I remember when DJ's had a personality and viability. I also remember when the fake, pre recorded radio DJ started coming in..

It's like the Gibson news of late.. The Big Corp comes in a fucks up everything that was good, sucking it's blood until it dies..

25 minutes? F that.
Someone give me the gist.
Just put it on while you’re doing the dishes ffs. Honestly though, same story — money, incest, corporatization. commoditization and a bunch of middlemen wanting a piece of the action.

I know it’s easy to feel cynical in this day and age but if you were there you’d understand that music, especially rock, was different until the late 90s. Now it’s like a restaurant chain franchise. At least in the “Above ground” scene.

I bet you'll surf this forum for at least an hour, but somehow 25 minutes is out of the question because you aren't getting instant gratification..

One of the things that made me laugh in disgust was that you're paying crazy money for a Studio.. But wait, if you want to use the Gear, that's extra.. LOL WTF??

Another was that YOU are paying for everything. It really is like the Mob. You take a loan with a crazy Vig that they want you to pay on forever..

I thought the same thing about the rentals. Well actually I thought it would have helped if musicians were better business people.

You're probably joking, but for the record he's Gen X.

FWIMBW I have the same issue when it comes to Rick's videos. There's always gotta be some nostalgic backstory / memory to share first. Just cut to the chase already FFS.
Yeah I’m just messin’…Another Aussie brother right? … I haven’t watched too many of Beato’s videos but I thought this was interesting. I’m sure there are many reasons why the music scene has changed. Have to admit though I miss how it used to be.
