It’s common knowledge that the Julian Calendar was used since 50BC for 1500 years, and this is only because the Catholic Church adopted it from the Romans.
Then the Gregorian Calendar began 500 years ago because a Pope wished it so.

BTW, I am very aware of the origins and later development of Judaism, Christianity in Judea and the beginnings of the Christian Church both throughout the Western Roman, Eastern Byzantine and Catholic Empires. Doesn’t mean that any of those religions are exclusively “The One” to the exclusion of any other global religions, though…

I left home at 19 and have practiced, gigged, toured, studied and worked my ass off with full time jobs and bands for 27 years.
I’ve paid back all my debts and done so without anyone’s help.
I’ve recovered from an abusive parent, moved states, found the greatest wife I could’ve asked for and have an amazing family of my own. Any “blessings” I have are because of hard work, long hours and cutting ties with shallow narcisstic assholes.
If God is here to bless, maybe he/she/it should start blessing poverty stricken nations where kids suffer and die from preventable diseases and corrupt governments.

And the perpetrator knows they are lying, with the intent of getting the person to question themselves and with the objective of psychological dominance. While there is some overlap, religious beliefs are generally sincerely held and ultimately rely on a degree of faith, which the believer and non believer both understand. There is subjectivity in a religious belief that is acknowledged, so no one is ‘Crazy’ or made vulnerable by not believing the religion, even though there can be real consequences depending on the culture. It’s just a different dynamic.
