I bought this 2104 from Rumbleseat Music in Carmel, CA.

I opened the box and saw this in the bottom.

This was all due to really crappy packing. Loose bubble wrap and folded up cardboard boxes used for cushioning. The saddest part is that it came with a cover and it was stuffed in the bottom of the combo. If they would have shipped it with the cover on, the backplate most likely would not have pulled away.

Idiots...

Just had Guitar Center ship a Uber Twin Jet. Came in a huge box filled with peanuts with and 2 useless pieces of foam.

Idiots......

That sucks, and unfortunately most amp manufacturers don't do much more than that either when packing/shipping. This obviously took a hard blow for those wood screws to pull out...better packing may or may not have helped.

That sucks. Is the cabinet damaged besides the screws being ripped out? Looked like it was in really nice condition

Not long ago I got a super bass which literally had one layer of newspaper for padding. Still need to clean the broken glass out of the tube sockets

I'm sorry that it arrived like that man. Have you contacted the store about this?

This absolutely unacceptable!!!   Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope this gets resolved.

I hate when people do that.
To me, whoever packed it should be shot in the ass for being so fucking idiot!!!!

I'd post a picture of that on their Facebook page. I bet you get quick resolution after that!

That's painful to look at.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'd demand a full refund including shipping and call the Bumble-shits mngr and bitch him out ... :gethim:

I contacted Rumbleseat Music about it immediately (and sent pics). They were professional about it, but not overly empathetic. The manager kept asking me if I knew their policy on shipping amps (no returns).

I was SO excited to get this amp. The combo shell WAS in mint condition (until the chassis fell out and scratched up the back) and I paid $1200 for it. $1200 for a 2104 in that (former) condition is a steal in my opinion. I am going to keep the amp and get it fixed as well as possible.

Anyone know of any great Marshall techs on the East Coast? I would like to get this restored to stock condition if possible.

Btw, some of the wood split on the back. Any suggestions on how to shore it up?

No returns is one thing but when they ship and it is destroyed that is their fault. :gethim:

Yeah, it is their fault as they didn't package it properly. If you're keeping it, at least have them pay for the repairs.

As for techs, where are you located exactly?

No idea about the cabinet, but the amp itself doesn't look too bad... I had a 2204 chassis shipped from the UK a while back which ended up in similar shape (filter cap clamps bent, and the shield mount for the V1 preamp tube socket broken off). Both of these were relatively easy to repair.

I don't know what to make of the filter cap on the far right which looks physically damaged, but I'd replace those anyway.

I almost forgot about Jeff Bober, formerly of Budda, who is local. He serviced another Marshall I had and did a great job.

Man, if that were me, I'd call up my credit card company and open a dispute. In my experience, you'd win easily.

If you're near Maryland, Pete Cage is awesome. www.audiocage.com I've used him for years.

I wouldn't keep it in that state unless they pay for the repairs.

Titebond and a clamp. Take it to someone who knows how to fix it. It's not a hard fix, but you want it done right. WHere are you located?

Man that sucks, u could always mount that in a Marshall head shell , have them give a big discount and it would be worth keeping. U may be able to rebuild that combo shell as well.

If you're near New England try Bob Dettorre and Jeff Swanson of DST amps...they can fix the electronics and the cabinet. GREAT guys who build cool blues/classic rock amps.

What a shame... that thing must have been really abused by the shippers to do that type of damage (in addition to the packing)

Yeah, the shippers obviously dropped it or whatever, but the seller needs to pack it better than they did - knowing that shippers these days suck in general. Did you get any better pics of the packing job? I wouldn't even want the amp at this point - who knows what else got effed up inside?

This is well beyond a 'No Returns' policy.

Sorry bro.
