I still have the Metal Runs booklet/cassette, where Ronni taught solos from "Knights Of The New Thunder". Bought it in 84? Had to order through the mail. i can't believe that was 30 years ago

I'd say that's spot-on. You using the Cali on that?

Yes, a Fortin Modded JCM800 Superbass on Warehouse Et65's.

IMHO the thing that doomed bands like TNT was just their overall direction. While Ronnie Le Tekro was great, their songwriting was too commercial, polished. I know a lot was probably the label telling them to make crap that sells but looking back, the heavier bands of the time stayed around longer. I mean, is it still metal when your songs basically sound like Air Supply with a distorted guitar?

I though Air Supply was the group that single handedly started the european black metal movement

I have all 3 - His, Vivian Campbell, and Amir Derahk (sp?)

I always liked Ronni's rhythm tone.. and used to be able to pull off a bunch of his machine gun licks.. Jorn Viggo Lofstad from Pagans Mind does him very well

I was at Tony Harnells 50th bday show a few weeks after that video, where Ronni was supposed to show and play.. he didn't...

That's cool that you still have those Metal Runs books. man, I feel like ol' school ;) Amir from Rough Cutt was a good player too.
Those machine gun-runs he does are really cool. I still throw it in once in awhile during a solo.

Love Ronni, great player with awesome tone.

Why has there never been a thread about this purple flanger trick? ;)
