Looking to get something that will do the job but still be cheap.

So, here's options for both...
I compared a number of stage monitors before buying and walked out with 4 of the Samson Studio Live! 612M's. They compared favorably to a similarly-configured set of JBL's (12" speaker/horn) at half the price. We've used them for about 60 gigs so far with zero issues. Great bang for the buck...
For my studio monitors I chose a pair of the Alesis M1 Active MkII speakers. No complaints - again, great bang for the buck...
An 11R is what I'm using the Alesis monitors for. Sounds great...chrisrocksusa":11fg83qv said:IndyWS6":11fg83qv said:The OP is late to their own party and hasn't clarifed whether they were looking for stage monitors or studio/reference monitors...

my bad, brosef.
I need monitors (or a monitor) for my eleven rack at home. I will NOT be using it live, I just need something cheapt o play this thing through. My only amp is a recto and it's less than ideal for jamming at home. The iidea is QUIET modeling to play for myself.

I'm probably using mine differently than you would as I route the 11R outputs to a Yamaha N8 mixer for flexibility. I then take the outputs of the Yamaha to the Alesis monitors.chrisrocksusa":3rnzmxdj said:IndyWS6":3rnzmxdj said:An 11R is what I'm using the Alesis monitors for. oh perfect man. I'm trying to talk to 11R guys to find out exactly what all I need. Do I need a pair of monitors (like, are there 2 outs on the 11R) or is it a single out.
which alesis monitors specifically? XLR to XLR or do you use XLR to 1/4

For your situation you could take the 11R Main Outputs (L/R stereo XLR) and connect them directly to the XLR inputs on the monitors.
You can run the 11R mono into a single monitor (I think the L output by itself for mono...), if that's your only option. It's built to be a stereo device and there are some nice stereo effects. Short term, you can just use the headphone jack on the front - it sounds great that way.chrisrocksusa":2faqkiqi said:IndyWS6":2faqkiqi said:I'm probably using mine differently than you would as I route the 11R outputs to a Yamaha N8 mixer for flexibility. ok cool. So it's all stereo? I have to get a pair rather than using a single monitor?
I just want to clarify.
Also, in the mean time I want to use my recto's power amp section (by plugging into the fx return) to play the 11R. Which out do I use for that?
That would have to be a single, couldn't I use that same out to go into 1 monitor?
