Best amp for Brian May tone?

You could also try pickups that replicate his tones. There are various kinds that do. I have an old Dimarzio Brian May set for sale. I hear the ones in his new sig model guitar are pretty good also.

Vox AC30 cranked. And dont forget to use a coin as a pick. Brian has always done that and its got to be part of his sound.

There's actually a video called "Star Licks", that Brian did back in 1984. He explains quite well about how he gets his sound.

And yep he does run a kind of wet/dry/wet setup. He splits his signal with a chorus pedal (Boss CE-1). Sounds really good without that seasick or overboard chorusy sound, quite innovative in fact.
