I always liked the comps with a blend knob so that I could back off some of the squish if I wanted. Barber Tone Press and the Wampler Ego were my go to's.
Hey there stranger! Got one you wanna trade for an EP Booster??

If I did then it would be yours! I sold them a bit ago because was not using them anymore. And I just picked up a MXR Booster Mini last week that has the Echoplex circuit in it.

GC over here by my office in North Olmsted had a used Ego for sale last week. I thought I saw one on Craigslist not to long ago also.

IME, the Keeley two-knob and Dynacomp types can be a struggle with anything hotter than low output PAF types. I was always trying to turn the compression down...from zero. I've also had the Diamond, Analogman Bi-CompROSSer, Barber Tone Press, and Carl Martin. I like the Carl Martin most by a lot but it has a power cord (at least the older ones do).

If you want an old Keeley 2-knob I have one for cheap. No paint or anything on the enclosure, just aluminum with labels (it's a very early one). I also still have the Tone Press but only because it doesn't work.
