Best Boost for a SLO?

Looking for a Boost to the Lead channel of an SLO..Not necessarily more gain, but to boost the signal. Any recommendations?

The OD Channel on the SLO definitely
doesn't need more Overdrive.
A Good Clean Boost will give you what
you're looking for.
I use this to Boost my signal on my
CAA OD100SE+ for the same reasons,
I don't want anymore Overdrive, just a
Boost in signal for Lead work.

Are you hoping to get a volume boost? You won't get that with an OD/boost pedal with a SLO, whether out front or in the loop. For that, you need a cut box in the loop to reduce the volume during rhythm work.

If you're just looking for a touch more saturation or compression for lead work, man the right boost is such a personal thing. Hard to make a recommendation.

I think a lot of guys use an EQ in the loop.

If you can't find a boost that suits - and you will have a hard time, because of the noise - do as Mike suggests on his website in the FAQ's......get a volume cut pedal and run in the loop. Engaged, this will give your normal rhythm volume. Disengage the loop for a volume boost. They will make you one of these pedals. I believe it was a 12db cut pedal. Same box as the channel switch pedal.

Have you tried a TS-9 or similar with Overdrive and Tone all the way down. It adds a nice bite to the tone.

I was just going to mention loop boosting, its great as long as A: Your loop is footswitchable and B: That you dont have any effects in that loop and that you have a knob to adjust the effects level.
I have been doing this to Randall MTS amps for years and now more recently with a JCM2000 TSL, the TSL is a little wierd though as when the loop light is on (on the footswitch) the loop produces no boost and when you think you are shutting the loop off it actually kicks in the boost... so the loop can either be a rhythm cut or a lead boost.. works very well, you dont have to deal with pedals of any kind and since there are no pedals its cheap and about $5 or less for a short patch cord and your up and running.
