Best budget delay with high gain amps?

Thinking about replacing my delay with something that has a smaller foot print. Right now I am using a Yamaha magicstopII. It sounds pretty good, but lugging around the walwart power supply is becoming a pain in the ass.

Any suggestions for something cheap, easy to use, and sounds good in the loop?

you can never go wrong with a DD3. if you want something with more options it will obviously most likely take up a bigger footprint..

I swear by my Digitech X Series Digidelay. Tap tempo, great analog simulation, good tone.

that being said, I use a True bypass box when it's in a loop to maintain signal purity when it's off. I keep it on TAP all the time, and then turn it on and off via the TBP box. Yeah, I don't get delay "trails", but I'm not worried.

But then again, this setup is 2 pedals big.

For a budget box they sounds great but youd probably destroy it at a gig

I had good results with the Line6 Echo Park. Using a DD20 now, going to scrap the DD20 soon and go axe-fx in (looks at watch) about 26 hours.

DD-3. Doesnt sound too bad in front of a Marshall either.

DD3 and Digidelay are both nice. I have both...I've had the DD3 forever, wish it had tap tempo like the Digidelay but set in the middle range works for most stuff.

I say look at the Marshall Echohead.

Great delay pedal.

The Guyatone MD3 is pretty cool and has a small footprint for sure. It's clear but not harsh and can do anything from short slapback to way out ufo shit. One caveat is that it's a bitch to change batteries and it goes through them fast, but if you've got a power supply then it's good to go. It's not bottom of the barrel budget but it's definitely worth the price of admission.

Check out the First Act delay pedals that they sell at Toys R Us. Seriously... Analog delay, $39, built pretty sturdy, and sounds really good. I have one and love it.
