What amp modeler (aside from a kemper or axefx) sounds decent through headphones?? I tried a GT-10 (sounds like ass) a Pod HD300 (sounds like ass) and a zoom box of some kind (sounded ok). My band just bought a Jamhub for silent rehearsing but we, the guitar players haven't found anything that sounds good direct. Anyone have any experience with something like this. Even if it's an amp with a headphone out...

Try the Eleven Rack ...thats what my band does is the silent rehearsal thing and i use thr 11R.
I think the system rocks myself!

I'm also between an axe 11r and Kemper. Probably go w kemper

Way out of my budget. I'm looking for a cost effective down and dirty solution as my $$ is tied up in fiddles and live rig...

I just bought a Zoom G3, but haven't spent much time with it yet.

I like my old PodXT through headphones. Had an AxeFX II for a while to run through headphones but was seriously unimpressed. Maybe the Kemper's better. Or my hearing is damaged, which is a real possibility, too, since I like V30s so much.

What headphones are you using? I am sure that would make a huge difference. IMO I have never been in love using headphones at just about every experience. I like to feel my amp and playing through headphones are a challange to me.

I just use my ancient pod2.0 or ampkit via my iphone for headphone based practice.

Seinheiser HD 280. I prefer playing "live" as well but we are trying silent rehearsal as our old space was sold and we're way too cheap to pay rent for a space   We've done one practice with the Jamhub so far and it was actually pretty good. I can hear myself!! Now we want to improve on the tone and feel...

Yamaha THR10

Though it sounds so good at whisper volumes you really don't need to use phones. I love that little amp just as much as my big rigs; one of the coolest products I've ever bought :inlove:

How does it sound through the headphones??

eleven rack...hands down favorite. i've tried everything but the kemper and axe-fx.

Used 11R is a great value
I have a Kemper but kept the 11 because it has so many useful features & applications
singtall will hook you up with patches too!

POD 2.0, but you've got to use the "hidden" features. Also, I get good tones out of my Korg Pandora 4 (NOT 5) but I have to use unconventional settings like Bass OD --> AC15 --> 2x12.

Can you compare the 11R to the Kemper if possible?

I really want to give the 11R a shot since it does so many things. Can it run 2 models in stereo like the axe?

I think the biggest problem you are running into is you want to sound as good through modelers and headphones at low volumes as you sound live, plus you want to do it on a budget. If you want it to sound top notch, get a Kemper. To just be able to run through your parts, ANY modeler will work. Doesn't have to sound brilliant to run parts with the band.

You may just have to lower your expectations a little maybe?

My husband did a ton of song writing when the kids were little with a mixer, headphone amp, e-kit and pod XTLive. Yeah the POD is meh for killer tones but it does get the job done.

Not for nothing, but those sennheiser might be your problem. I have them and can't stand them. You might want to try something else. If they work for you, God bless you, but I can't use them for anything.
