another vote for the MXR 10

Yep, another from me too. Hated how noisy the Boss GE7 was, got this, and haven't had to bother trying any others out. I specifically like having control over the 500hz and 1k frequencies too, rather than 600 or 700 and 1.2k like some other pedals. Cheers!

Haven't had many Eq's but the MXR 10 band in the loop is pure goodness but yes it is a bit noisy. (was for me but there are mods you can do to tame that)

The fish and chips to me was actually a very good surprise. Yes, it was not AS good as the MXR and it is cheaply made it seems but I got one for like $7 and for that price it cannot be beat.

Never tried the VFE eq but I can attest by saying VFE makes some of the best quality pedals I have ever played.

I would actually love to try that VFE eq but as far as my experiences with what I have actually played the MXR is the winner for sure. Has those volume and gain levels and the levels for all frequencies made a huge impact on what you wanted it to do.

Have never tried para eq but heard nothing but good things.

you guys talking eq into the front or eq in the loop? tone shaping or solo boost?

I have the boss ge7 and the MXR 10 band and both will do the job just keep in mind if it's going on a pedalboard the MXR is 18 volts...

Usually in the loop for me, but ultimately all situations.

MXR 6 band in the loop for solo boosts. The Fish & Chips is decent but a cheap box of plastic.

FIsh 'n Chips, if you aren't stomping on it all the time. Quieter than the Boss stuff I've used, and cheaper. It's a crappy plastic box though, so be careful.

I recall this digital pedal EQ that could save/recall presets, and had MIDI control. Can't remember the name of it though. It sure did look cool. I'll see if I can find it. The new Mesa EQ looks great too.

EDIT: Found it! https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/S ... dal_Review

Yes, but at 20 bucks, buy two...  any Boss or MXR I've tried is just too noisy. Better built, but they hiss like crazy.

Are you wanting to use it in front as a boost? or in the loop to shape the tone? In front as a boost... the MXR 6 band is the best EQ pedal, especially the old blue ones from the 70's and early 80's. If it's for in the loop, i would get a Danelectro fish & chips, as it's the quietest EQ pedal i've ever owned, seems to work really well and very cheap too.
