This is my favourite.

I like its beat, I like the groove & flow. Good rhyming. Its catchy. You can even bang your head to it while playing the bass line on your guitar.
And I love the humour!

From 1992.

One of my all time favorites. For me with hip hop there is 2 types of Rap, good Rap and bad Rap, with little in between. I either love it or hate it typically.

I would have to say there are no good hip hop tracks except bring the noise and I'm the man by Anthrax.

The Beastie Boys are one of my favorite bands ... seen them many times. There is so much good Hip Hop it hard to pick the best. I see no real reason to put years as best. Because there is a lot of good stuff before and after the years you mention. I mean look at The Black Eyed Peas, etc ....

Not a hiphop fan, but I DO dig this tune (its my theme song everytime I get behind the wheel!);

I want to delete this thread and ban anyone who contributed in a positive fashion....

True, completely forgot about the Beastie's, some awesome work from them over the years for sure... Jimmy James, Sure Shot, you name it, the list goes on and on...

I was wondering why these guys were feeding this troll. And recently i watched some video of a retarded dj and I'd like to officially retract any positive comment i made towards dj's in that thread a few months ago.

I love the Beastie's and listen to them pretty much everyday. I would also like to add 3rd Bass to the mix, but since they rule as much as the Beastie Boys, you can just youtube them if not familiar and check them out. Kage, lighten up before we all have to give you the GAS FACE....lol.

Btw, tons of hip hop comes from shit like P-Funk, and if you can't hang with the P-Funk, well you have problems. Speaking of which, P-Funk are breaking out their walkers and funking it up next week. I just got the email and couldn't believe it....

Arriving aboard the Mothership, the living legend, and godfather of funk himself, George Clinton is slated to bring Parliament-Funkadelic to lower Manhattan to perform an intimate outdoor concert in New York City at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at the Beekman Beer Garden.

Appropriately dubbed George Clinton's 70th Birthday Funkabration, the show comes a mere five days after Clinton's actual birthday of July 22. "Bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay!"

George Clinton's 70th Birthday Funkabration will be staged outdoors on the Beekman Beer Garden's 200-ton sandy beach, with the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and East River as Clinton's backdrop. However, if summer rain showers pop up, the show will go on, under the protection of the Beekman Beer Garden's 10,000 square-foot beer garden tent.

Wednesday July 27
Doors at 5PM
Showtime 7PM

**Show is outdoors rain or shine.
**21 & over only

There are only three rappers or "groups" I've ever liked... Snoop Dogg, D-12 (specifically Bizarre) and of course Eminem... these guys are just lyrical geniuses... and they brought something different than what was in place at the time... most of there stuff is just freakin' hilarious!

"They said I can't rap about being broke no more
They ain't say I can't rap about coke no more
(AH!) Slut, you think I won't choke no whore
'til the vocal cords don't work in her throat no more?!"

"I can't describe the vibe i get when i drive by 6 people and 5 i hit"

"I got my grub on, but didnt pig out, no Thanksgivin so we eatin, carry out.
This dude came through my front door, he said I wouldnt live to see 24
I gotta go cause I got on flip flops
If I sold out then my feet 'd drop.
Had to stop, at the red light, everybody laughin at my yellow dirtbike.
And everythings alright
I got a beatin from Sherry, shes a transvestite
Callin up my homies and Im askin yall
Bring twenty, bottles of alcohol
Playin football, and Im in trouble
They gave me the ball, I fumbled
And I cant believe, my best friends gay
Today was a bad day." (Ice Cube "parody")

That's just some funny sh*t there...

Snoop Dog, the original P-Funk disciple. See Atomic Dog, where he got his entire act. That said, I do enjoy some of his stuff. He still can't touch George Clinton and crew. Without George, there is no Snoop.

I have seen Parliament-Funkadelic many times.... easy one of the best bands I have seen live.
I do not care who you are ... if you go see Funkadlic you will dance. This is a fact ~ not a opinion ...
George Clinton has been my spiritual leader as long as I can remember .... I love that man.
Dr Dre, Snoop .... everything they touch turns to gold if you have been paying attention.
Someone should probably mention Prince ...

As far as not liking songs or a band .... I do not like most bands and songs. But to dislike a entire style of music .... I just could not do that even if I try. Not if I am honest with myself.
