Went out and bought an MXR 10 band Eq today. Put it in the loop of my BE. This has single handedly been the best addition to my rig since buying my first tube amp. I get GAS all the time like many here and am always looking because I get into different bands at different times.
It never occurred to me the world of tone shaping that could be opened up with this pedal. Admittedly I am starting with one of the best high gain amps in the world so that is definitely a factor but my god. I was able to go from the BE high gain plexi base tone to a slash classic marshall bite, to adam jones mid boosted but not honky saturated diezel kinda thing, billy corgan Siamese dream cream, and a volume boosted solo tone. To have the ability to dissect the treble and mid frequencies and pull things in and out is like being able to master my live tone. I pull the 16Khz band out almost completely most of time. Just wanted to share for everyone who doesn't have and eq or is thinking about one, go buy it.
