Hi ya'll,
I have a BE-100 head and a homemade 2x12 cab. It currently houses two Celestion G12-75's. Nice speakers but I want to replace them. Any suggestions? Can I mix them?

yup. Mine has an Eminence governor and a wizard. Killer tone. YMMV.

I have 2 Scumback J75's in my cab and I like them a lot. They sit right between a G12M and a G12H tonewise, and work well with every amp I've ever run through them.

I loved the V30 - Greenback combo, two nice choices for my mics in the studio or on stage. Right now I am trying the V30 - Creamback 65 combo: Better volume balance (V30 was eating for breakfast the Greenback in the room tone) and nice beefy mids, I really like it.

Actually the Creamback 65 has less SPL (Loudness) than the G12M Greenback. There not much louder but the specs show they are, so I'm surprised your getting more balanced volume with the Creamback. Love Creambacks BTW.

You are right, I just saw the technical details on the Celestion website. Funny thing is that I still feel that Creamback 65 works "better" with V30 that Greenback, at least to these pair of ears sounds louder..?!?

Maybe it has to do with the difference in the midrange character, there is this thing that is called "perceived loudness" that things sound louder not because of their actual SPL but because of their eq curve.

So far I am diggin' it and I really really like the way Creamback 65 sounds recorded.

BTW I really love the room tone of closed back Greenback-only cab, I think that it is an awesome and really kickass classic rock speaker. On the contrary I am not crazy for the room tone of V30 but the mics love it and it's great in a live scenario.

I just ordered a 2x12 loaded with a Scumback M75 and Celestion V30 for my JJ100. Dave uses this combo in his 4x12's. I realize that in a 2x12 the V30 may overpower the M75, but I really think a balance of those two tones is my ideal sound.
