For me - Penta Labs 12ax7s preamp, 4 SED EL34s & 2 JJ E34Ls power. My Herbert never sounded better (for metal).

You can get them from dougstubes & eurotubes.

What's better about the 6550 SED?
Do you use it for all 6 tubes?
How's the sound difference between el34's and 6550's?
What pre amp tubes?

What Brand/Combination do you recommend to turn the Herbert into a Metal King/Huge Thick wall of sound?
6x JJ KT-77's? and 1 Tung Sol Hi Grade in V1? what else for the pre-amp?

lol yeah i know the Diezel Herbert owns all other metal amps, but seeing as the Herbert is the king...i figured i give it tubes, fit for a king. Just after the best combination.
