You can find a nice Gibson LP studio in that range and they are really good guitars, it's essentially a $2000+ USA Les Paul but without the fancy aesthetics. Though I haven't played on the older models (I have a 2008 or so), the 90's one had an ebony board which in my opinion makes them even more desirable.

If you can get past the TOM, man, the Schecter KM6 can be had used in that range and they are killer for the money.

I love that guitar. It's actually on the list!

Yeah truly. Some serious bang-for-the-buck there. I have one I thrash on. Love it.

True! I had a handful of these and the 1995 I had were better than any “real deal” LP that I’ve owned. I especially like the Alpine White ones!! Lots of people are on to these though, as ones in good condition are getting harder and harder to find.

Mid 90’s Epiphones are very solid as well, and really only require upgrades in the pickup and tuner department.

Yeah I got my KM7 for around your price range. I am now a Schecter believer. Not that you care... LOL!

Paid a little more, but ordered a brand new So-Cal at a great price!
