Best way to mount a Marshall cab logo?

Hey folks,

I've been working on an old (1974?) Marshall cab and have put in a new baffle with grillcloth from Mojotone. I've got a 9" logo but don't want to mess it up as I install it. Does anyone have any tips for how to proceed and most effectively install it? I know I have to drill for the pins, but is there a best practice technique for installing it most effectively and accurately?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Cut out the pin hole area from the old baffle and use that as a drill template.
Or, lay the old baffle on some heavy paper/ cardboard and make a template that way.
