Hey everyone,
I may need to use a wireless guitar system in the very near future. I know what the high end systems are but I have never personally used one. A cable is always best but does anyone know which ones don't lose much tone or create a slight delay effect? Any opinion and help is appreciated!
By the way, I may need this because I run sound for our band from stage and need to hear the mains. Thanks!

Line6 G50/90 hands down. Its way better than any other unit Ive ever used. Years later I'm still in love with it.

Thanks! The Line 6 is more affordable too than the Sennheiser or Shure ones which ho for 800-900, lol.

Everyone else is just going to say "Line 6 Relay" from here on out. I took my buddy's G90 for a test drive, and I approve. I will acquire one for myself once I feel I need one.

The G90 has a bunch of presets for cable length. I use the 20' setting.

My rig is set up through a RJM RG-16 with the a 20' monster cable and G90 A/B'd on loop 8, I can't tell a differance and that is why I still have it. Im constantly switching back and forth between 2 guitars or if I feel lazy and don't want to use the wireless. Haven't even tweaked the amp for either one. Before I would have to redial the amp and that drove me crazy. I started out in the 80's with a Nady, late 90's early 00's with a Samson and couldn't stand the tone change and hardly used them. The Line6 X2 was better, had that a few years ago but they nailed it with the G90.

I have a Sennheiser system I am gonna be selling this week.

I have a shure but just could not get the tone to work - so back to the old cable.

Every touring musician I know has gone back to their old Sennheiser or Shure systems after the Line6 systems broke down on the road. Some guys have gone through three or four packs that just crapped out, and a bassist I know has gone through 2 of the rack units along with multiple packs. I've also encountered a few techs who were just pulling them out of racks and giving them away just so they would be rid if them.

Take it for what it's worth.

Line 6 G30 is awesome.

I sold mine only because I'm not gigging anymore. It was flawless, sounded great, easy to use.

I've been using a G50 very successfully now for well over a year. Many shows under it's belt, but if you buy one, also buy the Shure cable that works with it for your needs...not the stock cable.
With that small replacement, it works great, and no worries.
Batteries last me 3-4 shows, if not more, depending on how long I have it on.

I bought a Sennheiser right before this and it sucked so hard I had to return it. And it was the Red $500 model that was supposed to be good. total garbage, and too many options, too much setup time. Not feasible for a quick setup show whatsoever.

G50 is so easy, turn on the belt pack, and plug in the wireless (or in my case my pedalboard), a cable to the amp, and we're done.

Is anybody using the G50 / G90 with multiple transmitters, i.e. more than one guitar?
Can you leave all transmitters turned on with the volume on the guitar turned down when you change guitars or does the transmitter not in use have to be shut off?

I don't but have been looking into getting 1 or 2 more packs. When you turn on the transmitter the receiver finds it almost instantly so you can only have 1 on at a time.

Anything but the Line 6 Relay. I had an XDS-95 and two G-50s and all three would dropout every few minutes everywhere I played. Check their support forums, it's a pretty common problem, and a problem Line 6 doesn't want to acknowledge is real. I know they have lots of happy users, but they have quite a few unhappy users, and with 3 out of 3 failures for me, it must be pretty common.

I use the Shure PGXD14, which is also digital, sounds fantastic, and unlike the Line 6 units, actually works.
