Another vote for the Line 6 Relay stuff. I had the 50 , sold it and went to the 30 , just because I liked the idea of the smaller footprint on my pedalboard. The Relay 30 is fantastic and I havent had a single issue with mine .

Anything but the Line 6 Relay. I had an XDS-95 and two G-50s and all three would dropout every few minutes everywhere I played. Check their support forums, it's a pretty common problem, and a problem Line 6 doesn't want to acknowledge is real. I know they have lots of happy users, but they have quite a few unhappy users, and with 3 out of 3 failures for me, it must be pretty common.

I use the Shure PGXD14, which is also digital, sounds fantastic, and unlike the Line 6 units, actually works.

This. I've had 3 different L6 systems and had significant dropout issues with all of them. They sound great, but they aren't reliable at all. I'm back to a cable most of the time now.

You know, I've heard this. But I have the relay g30. I had a couple of problems at first. But I replaced the cable that went to the transmitter. And, the cables to my pedal board and I haven't had a problem since. Mine has worked flawlessly since doing that.

I swear GCDEF must do searches for the relay threads. He's really one of the very few people that I've seen that it doesn't work for. And, he'll chime in on any thread having to do with the Realy. Oh wait......3 posts.

Looks like I will try the Line 6 first and replace the transmitter cable right away. I already use monster rock cables going to the board so I will give it a spin! Thanks everyone!

You think it's better just to have people heaping on praise, without letting people know of the issues? I think it's probably better to let people know the good and the bad and decide for themselves. If I'd had a problem with just one, I'd write it off as a bad unit, but three out of three, I can't do that. Add that to the conversations I've had with Don Boomer, failures I've had with other Line 6 products and conversations I've had with other Line 6 managers, problems I've seen with other Line 6 equipment of bandmates, and I feel the responsible thing to do is sound a warning.

And no, I don't look for these threads, but when I see them, I'll throw in my two cents.

Mine drops out too, but works most of the time. When I googled the problem, I got TONS of responses, so GCDEF isn't the only one by a long stretch.

Most of my problems were solved by using the Line 6 power instead of the pedal power, but it still has occasional drop outs. I don't fully trust it.

My G90 has been trouble free and is pretty much transparent.

I researched the problem before I bought it. I decided, if it works I'll use it, if it doesn't, I'll return it. The number of users that don't have problems far outweigh those who do. Once I got my cable situation lined out, I've not had one dropout. Glad I got it becaue for the price and sound quality, you can't beat it. I also have to wonder how many of those people that said it din't work for them had underlying causes. When I did the testing on my cables, it would work with a guitar cable and wouldn't with the wireless. So, I wonder if there's some kind of sensitivity issues with the wireless.

I was just pointing out GCDEF because every single thread that I've seen on the line 6 stuff, he's commented. And, you have to admit, he only has 3, oh I mean 4 posts now on this site and all them have a dig at line 6 being unreliable. I mean, I don't think that is most people's experience. I don't really gel with their modeling stuff, but I think it's good and reliable, just not for me. I mean maybe I'm off base here but there is a certain appearance once you look at comments from him that they all have to do with line 6 being unreliable. John is the first regular contributer from Rig talk that I've heard say they've had problems. Just saying. If I had a bad experience I would be the first to say I didn't have a good experience.

Okay, but I have 30,000 posts on HC and 13,000 on TGP. I'm a pretty regular contributor on a lot of topics. Just don't hang out here much.

That's cool,I think it's important to get the good with the bad. Your posts made me take a second look. Mine worked for me. I was just pointing out how it appeared without knowing you, that's all

After the research from all of your comments and recommendations I purchased the Line 6 G50 to try it. I tried to get drop outs and had 2. Then I replaced the cable from the transmitter by a recommendation on here and then not a single drop out after playing for 2 hours. Hopefully this continues! Thanks again!

G50 user here for over a year. The original cable did indeed crap out but was easily replaced. Otherwise the thing has offered me virtually perfect performance and I can't say a single bad thing about it. To the guy who knows someone tearing G90's out of racks and giving them away, please have your friend PM me. ;)

These threads always bring on a chuckle. "Best" and "Most affordable and cheap enough for the weekend warrior" are two different things. There's a lot of disparity in pricing from L6 and other budget stuff (I own a G90 by the way) and an upper end Shure or Audio-Technica unit that are proven road worthy and used by most touring bands.

You are right about the gap between those units! I am a weekend warrior plus actually. Minimal of 3 gigs a week and sometimes 4. I am stuck in the middle. If the L6 doesn't last in the long run I may just go for the Lectrosonic and drop some big bucks, lol!
