Since when does someone have to be able to out do some one to be able to critique?? You shouldn't judge your politicians if you can't do a better job then them? Shouldn't say an amp sounds like shit if you can't build and design a better sounding amp?

That has to be the sloppiest mess of attempted sweep picking that I've ever heard. WTF was Guitar World thinking by actually shooting a video of this hack? I've never listened to Nile, and now I'm quite happy that I haven't. He makes Kerry King look like Al Di Meola.

This is why I don't sweep pick, because it would prolly sound like this lol! Man I hope he was at least wasted when he did this, because that was the suck!

Try getting up on a stage in a big city-proclaim you are the king and whip out a crapfest and watch how the crowd reacts- regardless of your tour dates and resume

Exactly what I was gonna post. Of course you're gonna get shit if you partake in a video series that is all about showing off technique in a "haha I'm better than you" kinda way, then you blow it that badly.

And when you seem like you're visibly wasted ontop of it? I've seen people crucified on the internet for far less...

Not even sure why Sanders agreed to do this kind of thing. Nile aren't known for their soloing as much as they are for complete extreme metal decimation. I can't see many guys in here being into Nile so obviously this is going to get some laughs. One of the best drummers to ever take a throne. Nile is more of a riff oriented band. Trey Azagthoth from Morbid Angel is the same way, he's a noted guitar god but his solos are very non traditional shred.

It seems like they caught him after a show one night and asked him on the spot to rock a solo riff. Then there's guys like Rusty Cooley that probably spend a month working on the riff and play it 1000 times to perfect it just to be like "betchya can't play this". Sure it's flashy but what has Rusty Cooley contributed to the world of music? ...... nothing. Nile on the other hand have a crapload of highly acclaimed and influential albums.

Havent played in a while. Been busy. 2 kids graduating highschool this month.
Gonna jam a few hours today. Got a little free time.
And yes....bet that no one can "Play this" or "Hack this" or "Butcher this"....
As mentioned earlier....no one would want to.

The real problem here is he ignores one of the cardinal rules of teaching or instruction.

When he played it fast I was like....what's RT on about now...I've heard worse!

But when he played slow, it was pretty bad. All the good teachers and instructors can play their stuff fast and especially slow. It's how you show students what you arte doing, and it also shows a good command and accuracy.

Now, given all that...it's all in fun. I've never taken "Betacha Can't Play This" as a serious lesson. So...lighten up !
