Heads with lights are for guys who wished they owned racks ;)

Honestly I think the way the 100 looks is pretty sweet. If I ever bought one I couldn't see myself ever using the light sensitivity option live though. If only we knew that the pedal was supposed to actually look like.....

the dynamo sounds awesome for leads, also it seems like they use the best possible component for everything to get the best sound. i need more channels though, and all my money is invested in dar, lol. dar is a little more my style, though id like to hear these two together

as for the lights, ill only be using the sensitivity option to impress chicks  but probably not while preforming or anything

I tend to leave the amp at one setting (dimed out) and alter the tone by changing pickups and switching distortion/fuzz/overdrive settings, so it would work for me. I'm particularly interested in the speakers. You can get Black Labels, and Dynamo's president, Ervin Williams, says that it puts out more sound than most 4x12 cabinets. It's also heavier than most 4x12's. I get the sense that the company's on much better footing than DAR. He's working on some combo models, which could be interesting.

I suppose he'd install a light feature if someone really wanted it . . .

naw, i dont need features like lights, gold plated knobs, bentley grills or....ostrich tolex

i'd look into them if i had any money, next thing im getting is a dar cab. i was actually going to ask if he could remove the light feature s its funny that we are talking about that, hah

ah, i meant, i would order one from dar IF everything gets straightened out, and is up and running for a LONG time. it will take me like a year to save the money anyway. so if theyre still around by then, and pleasing customers, ill be ordering a cab

Why has no one else ever built an amp using these Russian MiG 25 tubes?

I think he must've got a sweet deal on a pallette of military surplus.

Nobody else uses them since they are fucking huge, require custom trannies and let's face it, it's not like replacements would be found at a local GC.

The whole disco light stuff only seems cool when your 13 and nobody doing serious high-end does that sort of thing for that exact reason.

That's just your lame opinion I like the fucking lights. I'm 38 I like the big tubes the technology is new compared to thē same old fkn let's mod a Marshall up with the same fkn specs that every wanna be amp builder does. There's one Dar ! There's hundreds of wanna be Marshall builders out there !

go cujo, i'm with you, regards

38 going on 13? Mariah Cary has sold more albums than the Beatles, so everybody's taste differs.

Well I didn't say that I personally disliked them(the tubes) -obvioulsy I was answering the question relative to the perspective it was asked-- manufacturers choices

The technology is not new,It's just a different tube.

I like innovation, I'm always sad to see when a decent product gets rejected or has to be modified since consumers couldn't see how kick ass it was.

Yep I'm also tired of all the Marshall iterations.

As for DAR, I've said to people I'm not happy about it's failure, quite the opposite in fact. The preamp pedal was going to be a game changer,I was excited. I almost put down a pre-payment but as I procrastinated I noticed that DAR was doing the same.Red Flag.

I chose to poke a bit of fun at DAR in thier and the consumers interest.

I still hope there might be a re-birth.

How bout this u pay 3-5 grand for other amps m u wanna dig at a guy who throws a lil so etching extra in. 4800 for a Diezel I got no lights !
Randall laney diamond hmmm more ppl are putting extra in. Gonna bitch about the. Too.
Modern technology is fkn fabulous. The Marshall thing huh they keep pumping out the same shit w a diff badge. Most of it blows that's why u then piss away more money for mods. So I guess we should only use 34 6l6 77 88 6550 cuz u say so. Fawk that. It's time to build something new Technology is there time for fresh like the Kemper gonna bitch about that amazing machine? It's time man for new blood !

I wouldn't pay 4800 for an amp like a Diezel.

Mods? Why mod when you can buy a FRYETTE?

I wasn't bitching, the question proposed was why "nobody else" (amp manufacturers he means) uses them so I provided some reasons why THEY probably don't. Reading comprehension how does it work?

A output tube is just another output tube relative to your comment of "new technology"

DAR products weren't what Kemper or Fractals are. Theres no comparison.

If you heard any secret bits of info Mike leaked here and there on development updates for the PX... it was going to get pretty darn close. And for an 900$ pricepoint vs afxII and kemper I would put it in the "comparison" camp.

IF it ever comes to happen.

wtf? mariah carey has sold about 20% of what the beatles have, other than possibly elvis no one has sold more records than the beatles

I thought Metallica had sold the most, but I could be mistaken . . .

oh yeah, sorry, where is my mind today. st anger sold just over 8 billion copies didnt it

though that is possible, lol, in my lifetime ive bought black album 3 times. once on tape when i was a kid, once on cd when i was a 14 and again a couple years ago

so if everyone on earth bought it and a billion+ bought it a couple times.....

I do sincerely hope DAR comes back into the industry full-speed with great customer service once the dust of whatever is going on settles. I've spoken with Mike several times about his creations, and he's using technology in these amplifiers that is way above the expertise level of other amp designers. Mike is utilizing things like MLSSA and digital monitoring of valve conditions while most amp gurus are doing good to understand ohm's law.

I've said elsewhere that Mike should try to find someone to buy the company and hire him to complete the work he started. Then people could get what they paid for and he'd be able to recover his reputation. I'm sure he has access to financing, or at least people who could invest in DAR and manage it better. If I had the money I'd look into it, but unfortunately I don't . . .

I have no dog in this fight....but did have a Dar Tuzzia Prototype that Hilly brought over my place when he was still with Dar.
And I can say this.....had alot of amps....
and this Dar had its Own thing going for SURE! Really was kick ass. Not a replica of another amp....but original for sure.
