Hey guys, had my eye on this thread for quite a while now and figured i might chime in.
I'm one of the guys who actually has an FBM 100-H.
I have no idea what's going on with DAR, all i know is the amps are real and this was never intended to be a scam.
Mike builds them all by hand and they are extremely complex ( i took the lid off mine and had a sticky beak out of curiosity)
I'm thinking the workload of building these amps all by himself may have become too much to handle and the demand has gotten out of control.
I really hope things workout...

its not the wait that is pissing me off, though i would might have been upset by now, i wouldnt have been pissed, its all the dubious behavior thats surrounding it. deadline after deadline missed. if he was telling me it was going to be ready back in jan, april, may, july ect and its not even ready by now how is it even possible that i would of been ready by the previous dates. he was just plain lying to get me off his back, its either that or he is the worst judge of time in history. each promise, he had no intention of even trying to finish them on time.
or like when he left for a month to "work on an out of state project" or whatever without telling anyone, then he comes back, almost baffled, jesus, i leave for a month and rig talk explodes. wtf?! that would be weird even if a friend did it, left for a month without a word, let alone if he had $2700 ofmy money

Exactly, the last few times we've heard anything from him was an update on why he hasn't been working on DAR for the last month.
I thought it was fishy when Fredrik went quiet about the amps, Ola had nothing more to say, Paul left, Jeff left.. etc. When Paul left I remember Mike, in a backhanded way, posted on FB that "SOMEONE.... was a bit too enthusiastic about development time". At least Paul responded within a day to any question I had.

So they do exist (I guess the idea of a scam was a bit far-fetched). That means that Mike must have committed to too much, and now can't find a way out. I'm surprised he can't find some sort of financing, unless there are other, extenuating circumstances that prevent it. Palo Alto, in North Silicon Valley, probably has more venture capital types than anywhere else in the US, if not the world.
Even if he'd been honest and said "I'm in over my head. I need help. Does anyone here have any ideas?", it would have been perhaps slightly better. I also wonder if he found his funds running out, did he triage his client list and picked out those he'd help and those he wouldn't.

So I guess we should only use 34 6l6 77 88 6550 cuz u say so. Fawk that. It's time to build something new Technology is there time for fresh like the Kemper gonna bitch about that amazing machine? i agree with cujo, amps have been modeled on fenders/marshalls for a long time, there have been some great modders and great innovators in that realm, but when something new comes along and it's completely different in the sense of completely from the fucking ground up etc yeah i guess my panties get wet, even if the light show is gets your "gayDAR" up i think it's cooler to have that then something that's been done, i like innovation in my music and my gear, too bad i can't play that well!, hehe
