Reading your first few paragraphs I was like holy fukking shit!!! But this is where you lost me...

You should have known! ?
Literally all of my guitars have HBs. Just trying to venture out before the arthritis sets in, haha. Truth is I should have known better long before that purchase. ?

wow. some of you
CL people seem to think I'm meeting up for a date half the time. "Oh chick who plays guitar, let me pour on my most offensive cologne."

*proceeds to send my 6'3" husband for meetup.
why do you need to inform CL sellers of your gender? i use email and then text once the deal shapes up. are you like 80 years old and insist on calling the seller or something?

glad u send your husband, he's probably more fun to have a convo with....

Yes, I do use the phone. It's a rotary dial landline. I tried to take out an ad in the newspaper, but they don't accept checks anymore.

I should've heeded the warning from this thread.

I was browsing the GC used site, and came across a decent price on some monitors (kali lp6's) then upon looking a little more, I noticed MF had two of the white ones for $139/each (normally $199) and with the free shipping, that was only a few dollars more than the used pair. I decided to think on it for a day or two, and then got an offer for 15% off an order of $250+ So I went ahead and ordered the pair of monitors, which came to right at $250/pair brand new.

A few days later, I get an e-mail saying one of the two had been cancelled. I call the following day asking to cancel the other one, and that guy on the phone all but refuses to let me cancel my order. He keeps offering to find me some alternative speakers, or sell me another lp6 in a different color. I told him, if I can't get a matching pair for the price I paid, to just cancel altogether.

He then tells me that a guitar center store is already processing the order, and that I would have to contact them directly to cancel it. I voiced that it doesn't make sense that I would have to contact a 3rd party, that should be their job to handle it. I finally ask him for the location and contact info for the GC I'm allegedly supposed to contact, and he puts me on hold for another 10 minutes, eventually telling me that his supervisor was able to get my order canceled

I haven't bought anything from them in years except the occasional cheapo items like strings or headphones when they're on sale. I should have known better.

I get the feeling they round robin commission and he lost his $5 bux.. LOL
I was already annoyed a decade ago when the latest know it all rockstar on deck would ask for an email when I have cash in my hand..
Fuck GC.. I can't remember the last time I set foot in one..
Sweetwater all the way.. My SWCC Balance is paid off. I'm pondering my next 4 year Interest Free, Same As Cash Purchase.. :p

Guitar Center and Musicians Friend are bankrupt, just do not buy anything there. They will not give money back simply because they do not have it and will be less and less likely to accept returns. Eventually they may not even deliver.

Truth be told they are paying the price for never denouncing manufactrer's anti-comeptition pratices.

I haven't set foot in one since they tried to charge me $63 for a 10-pack of D'addarios 15 years ago when they were still $29.99. The guy all but called me a liar when I told him that's what I normally paid online.. Then he checks, and apologized and proceeded to tell me they work on commission, trying to justify bending me over. I told him to shove the strings up his ass, and enjoy his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and to go find a real job.

they have a great selection of accordions tho!
