I can’t believe I’m breaking my “stay the fuck out of RT’s OT section” for this, especially considering who I’m replying to, but I’m personally not down for lowering my expectations or morality for the sake of voting some fucking cunt into office who won’t do a single fucking thing they ran on. Whether they won’t do it because the system is fucked or due to identity politics, I couldn’t give a fuck. They’ve created people like me who have zero faith in the system. Zilch. Nada. The *ONLY* faith I have is that these fucks, on both fucking sides, will do whatever they can to ensure they remain in power as long as possible and can get richer. *EVERYTHING* else is a talking point they have zero intention of making good on and if they do, it’s because identity politics and has nothing to do with the actual betterment of the country in the current state it’s in.
If someone walked up to you with a glass full of diarrhea and a glass full of piss and said “Choose one to drink. Technically, you don’t have to, nothing is going to be a single bit different if you don’t choose one, but if you do, you can’t wash it down with anything and the aftertaste will be in your mouth for at least 4 years until we do this again”, what would you do?
While there are plenty of people out there who are more than happy to guzzle either of those glasses down as long as it’s tied to their identity politics, I’m not one of them. There are few things I have more disdain for than identity politics and the people who are more than happy to guzzle one of those glasses while telling others they’re wrong for not partaking.

I agree 100% and I've said it before, if this country ever needed a third option, it's now more than ever. However, if I'm force to make a choice with what we have, I'll pick the party not hellbent on destroying the working middle class and the constitution.

Well, I’ve been alive for 7 presidents and in my time, the only thing I know to be true is that the rich have gotten richer the entire time. Middle class tends to bob up and down and the poor areas just get bigger and bigger, not sure if there’s a ‘more poorer than poor’, but areas that were once belonging to middle class families where I grew up in New England started turning into poor areas and have been heading that direction since ‘03 when I bailed from the area.
When we see some long term success that shows both parties are united in working for the people, I might change my tune. The current stance of “I’ll veto your shit because you’re on the opposing team, regardless if it’s good for the people or not” is a non-starter for me. And there’s quite the difference in definitions of “good for the people” these days.
As an outsider, both the left and right get further and further away from what I believe is “good for the people” I was hoping some semblance of sanity would kick in, but it appears people are quite content following them however far each party wants to go, while a whole fucking shitload of us who don’t give a fuck about the identity politics are waiting for everyone to cut the fucking shit and get some fucking work done without looking to score a political touch-down in the process. If a party is promoting divisiveness, they already lost my vote.
The amount of government overreach both sides are currently clamoring for FAR oversteps anything I find reasonable or even sane.
