Thanks for that man! I've heard that more than once...it's weird because I don't consider him an influence in any way lol, never owned any of his CD's or broke down his playing, etc. I do enjoy watching his live stuff though, he does entertain because he's so, well, great. I own most of the G3 releases, fun stuff, and more recently, I wear out that Astoria dvd (bought that mostly because I REALLY like MacAlpine - now there's one of my long time favs) and also, I toss in the Blu Ray of Where the Wild Things Are now and then...more great guitar nonsense!

Conversely, I don't want the guy to be destroyed either. I mean, I can give him credit for creating what he set out to create I guess. I don't have to agree with the way he went about it and I don't agree with his lack of professionalism but that's his problem not mine (ours). Public forum is public.

I have no beef with you personally and honestly do not have a single dog in the fight but all you've really been able to do is point to the good tone and some pictures with Michael Wagener. You keep asking for proof of what is wrong with the builds - which has been provided over and over again. Mostly, everything on this forum is old news.

FYI - there was confusion on DirtySteve's part on which wattage amp (model) he really wanted. He was sold the 20 wattr'

I will admit you are very knowledgeable in a lot of areas regarding electric guitar so I give you props there my friend.

I have not inspected a production Blades build for myself, so I can't give an accurate assessment. The tone sounds great to me! The appearance of the head cabinet is of no concern to me. If a buyer chooses, he/she can always put the chassis onto an alternate container. If it were me, I would get rid of the cup holder, and then schedule an inspection for UL certification. If UL were to see the cup holder, it would be an instant fail!

I'm no electrical engineer, but I've been working in the hydro-electrical field for 25 years, and I hold a 200 hour electrical theory certification through FHBA. If Billy is intent on keeping the cup holder, he should at the very least, install a GFI into every amp.

First, listing something through UL is quite expensive. If he's cutting corners on amps to make them cheap I don't see getting it listed for approximately $10k being a thought. Even if you just go in for a review with those guys about standards and your product, it's a couple grand to do that. Secondly, if the high voltage components are in fire and shock barrier (a properly designed chassis) the cupholder might not even be a problem. I'd have to check the standards for these types of products, but usually your high voltage wiring has to be double insulated which you might be able to get away with the wiring insulation and the grounded chassis being the second layer. I'm not 100% on that but it could be the case. Also, people saying you wouldn't be able to sell something somewhere for not being listed might not be the case. UL listings aren't necessarily required for a lot but are a good idea most of the time.

My old Fender has one! I believe Mesa/Boogies are listed as well. I'm not sure other than those though.

I asked for no cup holder, cream knobs, gold plexi panels, all of which which he agreed to. I didn't ask about the front panel, but I think he's intent on keeping it the way it is. I would like to have one in a white Marshall style head-box with the Blades logo.

I have not purchased one yet. I spent $2600.00 on two guitars in the last three weeks... My fiance' is counting the double-neck as two guitars, so she say's I've purchased three. I just don't have the funds right now to get one. I'm sure the builds are fine... Billy's not a neophyte when it comes to amplifiers, so I'm confident that they are solidly built.

Billy is offering PayPal payment, so you have a guarantee via PP payment policies. He wants Blades to be an amplifier people will love to use, and I love that he feels his product is the best thing out there... As a builder, that's how he should think.

Total fail. First you didn't have any use for a high gain amp and now you don't have any money to buy one. To sum it up, you don't have anything to back up your statements.

First, I'm glad that Billy didn't write that "article". I'm not sure that I could have made it through the lack (or overuse) of punctuation, misspelled words and acronyms that would have otherwise been the result. Unfortunately, the person that wrote the article appears to have left school just a year or two after Billy...

You've been attacking everyone else posting in this thread for the past 15 pages saying that what has been written about build quality can not be supported, even though there are multiple first hand accounts and photos evidencing the claims.

You have never seen inside a new build yourself and have no first hand accounts, but yet you claim you're "sure the builds are fine" and that you are "confident that they are solidly built".

The hypocrisy you exhibit is astounding.

Billy may or may not be a neophyte when it comes to amplifiers, but you are truly a neophyte of the church of Blades Amplification.
