Alder body guitar, ebony fingerboard, maple neck.

I like the nailbomb but am curious what the Blackhawk will sound like in a Jackson.

I play metal out of all of the high gain amps. This guitar will likely be tuned in C# or C. Black dahlia murder type stuff

Is the nailbomb you have ceramic or alnico. Is there anything you dont like about it ?

The Blackhawk also comes in alnico or ceramic. The Alnico version is suprisingly tight though.

Ceramic, I like it. I've had two guitars with the nailbomb and always liked it. Maybe I should stick with it, just wanting to try other BKPs. I have a ceramic warpig in one of my warriors and find it to have a lot of low mids which I don't particularly like. The ragnarok is better for my ears, and the lundgren M7 is also another great pickup.

The Black Hawk has less low mids than the Warpig and its not as dark. In the right guitar the Warpig is awesome. Ragnarock I didn't love, tried it in a few guitars and was a bit sterile for me. The BH has more character, I like the Alnico version a lot. The Impulse is also very good and has a very even and neutral eq curve.

I had an Alnico Warpig set in the SL2H before the Blackhawks (ceramic) and agree with the above. Sounded too dark, distant, smooth and kinda boomy in it. The Blackhawk was a lot tighter, more focused and cutting, but less character/more sterile and kinda clinical sounding. I’ve moved on from BKP’s many years ago now. They’re kinda like the gateway for many into other boutique pickups
