Any one had any luck boosting an ht-5. I just got one and it sounds pretty good for what it is but I'd like a hair more grind and sustain. I tried boosting it with a buddies EH Boost and it sounded crappy. Let me know your thoughts...

I use an SD-1 every once in a while

i was running the gain full tilt for a while and the sound just wasn't there for me..backed it to about 2:00 now and I'm digging it alot more

I use both a Dano TOD and CO1 to boost my HT-5. I use whichever one I want to at the time. These pedals killed my Boss SD-1 and OD-3 with this amp.
TOD is more transparent, but also more flexible because it has level, gain bass and treble dials. Creates a very tight, clear and articulate modern high gain tone.
The CO1 adds some bite and hair to your gain. More compression, more color...very nice.

Do either of these pedals cut the bass response? I want to maintain or improve the chunk if possible.

No, neither do. The TOD has a bass dial as well, so it can be tailored. Look for the Version 1 of both of these pedals. (white label, not black label) For $40 each, they are a steal of a deal.

GC has a version 2 TOD pedal. Have you tried it?

Just find a cheap Bad Monkey and you'll do fine.

No, haven't tried any V2's. Others have, and say it isn't as good as V1.
V1 TOD is a Timmy clone, V1 CO1 is a OCD clone.
Dano had to change the circuit because they were too close to said designs, resulting in the new V2's.

I've had good results with a Keeley SD-1, BB Preamp, OD-1 and Bad monkey.
